Prediction Our best 22 for Round 1 2020

Remove this Banner Ad

Assuming Wright doesn't do any funny business from now until tomorrow, how does everyone see the best 22 going into next year? As good as O'Brien was late in the season there is no room for him in the team at either end. Nash might be squeezed out as well. It's a good position to be in though. Hopefully Schoenmakers and Puopolo are kept around for depth as we don't have enough key position players and small forwards respectively on the list. That may be rectified during the delisted free agency period with some ready made players.

It’s a good team when your B&F can only start on the pine.
Do we know if Lewis is going to be good for Rd 1?

Impey not available until late in the season, so probably need Poppy to play to avoid a super tall forward line. Nash could play forward instead as he's also a pressure forward, but it would be nice to find a pressure forward that can actually hit the scoreboard more regularly than either of those managed.

So with one of the most boring trade periods of all time drawing to an end and Graham Wright once again working his magic it's time for the yearly best 22 prediction threads.

So have at it
Here's mine which is completely disregarding all injuries bar Impey's as it's almost certain he won't be fit for Round 1

HF: Jack Gunston, Mitchell Lewis, Tim O'Brien

Seems that we've essentially all got the same side.

If this best 22 is by any chance fully fit by the time Impey comes in it'll be interesting who falls out. My pick would be O'Brien but who knows.

That all depends on how we use him. He worked very well as a smooth HB last season so it'll be interesting to see if we try him forward this season when he's fit or wether injuries/form will allow him to slot back into our defence.

Would love Silk to play as a permanent small forward. Kicked 3 against the Weagles in the last round in that role.

Stratton emergency 😮... No chance the captain would be emergency.

That's got to be the best interchange bench in the league.
But Wingard should start on the field. At his best, he's our best player.

This would be my best 22 although it’s likely we are going to see McEvoy in defence and cegs as the ruck. gonna be a hard one to push out one of those defenders. I know cegs didn’t sign 3 years to be a box hill ruck so he will be best 22.

That’s a good team but I agree with you on cegs. Going to be competition for the tall spots down back and up forward. Haven’t seen that for a while, maybe since the glory days.
