I did the CHF topic before, now lets do CHB.

With Ash and jako ageing who will take control of defense in the future for us? Glass looks likely, but a defense does not revolve around one player.

This is my defensive 6:

FB: Read Glass Wirrpunda
HB: Collica Gaspar Morrison

*Read is injured
*Glass is injured
*Wirrpunda gives away too many goals, he's a playmaker not a defender
*Morrison is a utility not a defender
*Gaspar has not even played yet
*Collica has not been with the eagles long, can't make a judgement on him

As you can see our Defense is really fragile.

I did not include Jakovich and Macca as we cannot rely on them. Harding and Prior ar short term solutions so i excluded them aswell.

Only other option is Carroll, though i don't know much about him either.

We have a very fragile defense, i hope KJ drafts some key defenders for next year.

Get Jonathon Hay from Hawthorn and the other Gaspar boy from Richmond I say. With Jako and Macca retiring we should be able to lure the players back with the money which isn't the best way to lure a player back morally but works in practice

D4E - i disagree.

Read and Glass are injured and will be good once back to health. Wirrpunda doesnt give away that many goals and if it becomes a habit will just start playing closer to his man rather than running off and creating run from the half back line. Morrison i think is a definite half back flanker rather than a utility. Sometimes he is given a run on the ball but is never put forward. Hes very good in defence and will be there for a long time.
Gaspar hasnt played yet but has great wraps and his brother even says he is better than himself. So i expect him to come in and play well. And finally Collica has been very impressive the last 2 weeks against Syd and Geel. So there is no reason why he wont be a regular in defence, then there is Harding and Prior to back up.

So i think were in a good position defensively and im sure Judge been the good recruiter he is will see the need to get a few Key position backmen soon for when Jako and Ash hang up the boots.
