It was great tonight.

Simon Prestigiacomo was good, only when Kent Kingsley had the patches, but he puts in some effort each week.
James Clement is the General, and he had 29 touches, 11 marks and 7 tackles including 6 rebound 50's. What a great game!!!
Tarkyn Lockyer is know playing defensive roles in the back half. Played on Ablett and was terrific. 30 touches and beat his man who is one of the best in the comp.
Nick Maxwell played a solid game, and his first half was probably the best half I have seen him play. Chipped in woth a goal also.
Shane Wakelin showed the courageous ability he has, and how valuable he is to the team.
Dane Swan played a great game last week and was supberb tonight. Had 26 touches and 8 marks, also clearing out of D50 10 times. Well Done.

Also there was the absence of Ben Johnson who was a late withdrawal.

It has to be one of the best in the comp, if not the best. Wakelin and Clement are 1st class defenders, Presti can keep anyone quiet, Maxy is one of the more promosing young defenders around, Benny Johnson has the potential to be a star and Dane Swan's finally found his place.

Richie Cole's gonna have a tough time breakin back into the team at this rate.

When isnt our defence good

Looks like Dane Swan can play football which is a bonus.

Our defence is definitely our strength. Our midfield is honest and works its bum off but lacks true class without Bucks. The forwards show some great flashes and Tarrant is working his guts out too, but the defence is what is holding it together and providing excellent quick rebounds.

If our midfield was as skilled and organised as our backline we'd kick 20+ goals a week.

James Clement is close to the best 10 players in the AFL.
Rarely does a player convincingly beat his man and provide such rebound.
Averaging midfielders numbers in the defensive 50 is fantastic.

Best and most solid defence in the league
Jimmy Clement- could dead set win a Brownlow that boy. The things he does I've never seen done. Seven tackles for christ sake!

agree with all that, but.....we seem to have the most goals/behinds kicked against us in the league. Room to improve? Or just stopping us from being completely 16th?
