Who read today's Herald Sun?

Its quite remarkable.

We had 20 picks in the 2001, 2002 and 2003 drafts. (inc pre-season ect.)

And of those 20 picks, there are only 2 players that remain.

So from our 2001 draft, our 2002 draft, and our 2003 draft.

Only H Shaw and D Swan remain.

2 from 20. 10% of draft picks over 3 years were on the money.

My goodness, how good we would've been this year, and possibly last year, had we gotten just 3-4 more of those picks right.

Thank God we FINALLY got it right & the foundations are there for a great era in the Collingwood Football Club!

Disgraceful recruiting though, Judkins & Co should be ashamed of themselves with that return

Watched all those draft picks play at Willy the only one to star was Swan yet he was pick no. 58. I think if you are going to be any good you need to be in the best players regularly at Willy. Swan one the best player at Willy for Collingwood in his first year was only 17 he has come along with maturity and will only get better. Is learning to deal with tags at the moment but was still very good in the first half against the doggies. Got a little tired. Collingwood, Judkins nearly missed out on Swan Essendon wanted him but took Salmon for his big comeback and were taking Swan next thank-god Collingwood beat them otherwise we would only have Heath left from that draft. Swan helped win us some games last year and equalled Johnson in Brownlow votes. The new kids will be good its helpful to finish down the bottom occasionally to rebuild.

How in God's name Dudkins survived not getting sacked is beyond me! One poor year you can understand, but three disasters!

I don’t think you can dismiss MM’s imprint on the types of players we drafted.

Regardless of who is to blame the reality is we have had as good or better drafting position as any club. We should have the best list in the comp. I hope to hell we have become the best drafting club in the AFL but that remains to be seen. For all the hype about Hines t this point he has got good players with early picks. The problem is only time allows for full judgement.

The 03 draft is not a real good indicator as all the cream was pretty much gone by the time we got a pick, but yes it has been a disaster, especially Cole instead of Del Santo in 01! No wonder there is a lack of depth. Thank god for trades like Clement.
