was listening to sen on the way home, the first caller said exactly what i wanted to say, it was typical of our plight at the moment.

During the last quarter i think it was mcmanus (knee reco victim and all!) was running down the doug hawkins wing and jordan mcmahon and peter street were behind him, both failed to chase hard at the start, thinking he will just kick it so why bother running, but instead he decided to run the whole ground, so they were forced to chase, except rather than mcmahon (supposed to be one of our fastest players!!!) chasing him down, peter street did the running and came closest to catching him, not only that but mcmahon was closer than street was to begin with.

I would of thought this guy could run down anything, isn't that his main (only?) skill?. This wasn't the only time this sort of thing occured. happened all day

would you believe we only had 31 tackles? another damning stat.

A lot of these kids just are trying at the moment and it's disgusting. Either get rid of them if they dont' have the right attitude, or get rid of rohde if he can't focus them. Because we are going no where.

Didn't see the game, but noticed on the stats that neither Smith nor Murph had a single tackle. Where were they playing - is this acceptable for HBF (if that's where they were) or really for any player who is likely to have been on the ground most of the time?
I'm sure there are others who could be singled out, but this stood out to me.

What do you think??? If Harris, Minson, Faulkner. had played would any of those players had an influence on the result of the game. just a thought.( I know there a lot of If's)

harris certainly would of helped in defence, but the problem appears to be more with the team in general. There's no desire or belief.

yeah they were going ok at the start, there was quite a lot of pressure we were putting on them and they were making mistakes, that let us go forward a lot in the second, but our delivery and reluctance to back ourselves and go direct killed us and we didn't convert, then they butchered us in the 3rd quarter, same old story, when the pressure is on, we have hardly anyone of any character who wants to stand up in these situations so we got trounced and we let them do it.

And what the f%^& was hahn playing at full back for in the 3rd quarter, he's one of our very few marking players and we nullify that by putting him at fb. typical rohde being reactive rather than proactive.

Yesterday was typical of the timid, reactive, underwhelming, non-physical style of play that has become our trademark for the last 3-4 seasons. I'm still waiting for this "accountability" to surface on a regular basis. If Rohde cannot change the way the players play, than what hope has he got to get us climbing back up the ladder. Some aspects of yersterday's game bordered on comical, and it's not as though Freo were white hot. They were average at best, but did enough to easily account for a physically and mentally weak opponent. Sad thing is I was not even that upset after the game, as the players have been playing with little or no intensity for the last few seasons and I now expect that sort of performance on a weekly basis. If they don't seem to give a sh1t, than why should we as supporters.

your quite right, i was having bets with myself as to when they would fall apart.
and when you look at the game, freo really didn't dominate for much of the game, it was just 1 quarter, yet we still managed to balls it up.

Rohde moved hahn to pavlich because power was struggling to match him for strength in marking contests, he gave away two free kicks and had a rather poor spoil attempt. Pavlich missed the resultant shots on goal.

God knows why power was on him in the first place.

Everyone keeps asking for the younger players to be given a job and more responsibility, so there was Sam's chance.

In my view, Power did a fair job on Pavlich. Certainly, the stats prove that Pavlich got more of the ball when Power was moved away from him.

I believe that Sam will make it as a very good AFL player but for Christ's sake, PLAY HIM ON THE FORWARD LINE where (like his brother) he is a natural.

Exactly, Rohde gets bagegd for not giving the young guys big opportunities and when he does he is still bagged
