HOULIHAN will get 40 possessions, he will tag out Brown and rebreak his leg, he will kick 4 goals and save 2, he will get 3 Brownlow votes!

And if we lose, we know Houlihan will still be one of our best players!

I'm new to Bigfooty (signed up last year but only really started posting a couple of weeks ago) and I have to say reading Carlton thread's is fairly amusing. I made some comments on the 18-22 weeks team lineup thread but only Thrawn seemed to comment on my posts, the others conviniently skipped over them to attack the 'easy wins'. Anyway moving on.

Your comments on the Eagles' midfield I find rather amusing. Lets look at your midfield. Judd, best player in the competition when he was fully fit, however despite a promising first up performance last week he hasn't done much since about round 7 last year. Stevens is coming back after a year on the sidelines and appears to have a niggling injury. Scotland is a workhorse, however I wouldn't mind him racking up the possessions on any given day. Then you have Carrazzo, Murphy and possibly Gibbs bringing up the rear.

Its amusing that you guys can sit there and claim the Eagles have a black hole and their midfield is piss weak. If you guys were Geelong I'd understand, however you're not. Kerr is easily one of the top 5 midfielders in the competition. Not that it means anything, but he's the 3rd or 4th favourite for the Brownlow. Priddis is a youngster who will only get better and add to a Sandover medal and an impressive 2007. Stengalein behind K.Cornes and C.Ling would be one of the best taggers in the league and racks up quality possessions as well. A.Selwood is also a very hander tagger. Embley is a star when he's not injured, after a good pre-season he will be ready to go. Braun and Fletcher are workhorses and while Fletcher's disposal is questionable at times they're still very good midfielders. Plus in youngsters like McNamara, Ebert, S.Selwood and Masten have had very promising pre-seasons. Lets not forget one other very important factor when determining a team's midfield - ruckmen. We have the best ruckman in the competition and one of the best backup ruckman in the competition. Who do you guys have again? Kreuzner, Hampson and Cloke?

As for the forward line, you guys have Fevola. Fevola is a freak and a champion full forward. Who else do you guys have? I'm being ignorant here so forgive me but who's your next prolific forward? Fisher? Betts? The Eagles have Lynch and Hansen who in my good are not superstars but very handy players and we have C.Jones and Kennedy who are coming along very nicely. I'm tipping M.LeCras to become one of the stars of the competition in the N.Brown mould, watch this space. Wirrapunda and Hunter are also very handy as well as having Embley swinging through on occassion.

By the way hopinh N.Brown re-breaks his leg was very classy.

Good luck on Thursday boys.

No-one comments on your pitiful posts because they are basically irrelevant to what is happening at the club currently. Also, you might want to direct the Brown comment to the person who said it. Generally this board would never wish that on any player.

Actually the two Carlton fans that commented said that they were good posts and I believe they were two of the more respected Carlton forumers. Anyway thats besides the point. Did you even read my posts? If you did, then which aspects did you find 'pitiful'? If you didn't then why post a comment like that which only highlights your ignorance?

Looks like Parrot has snared another one. Has a strike rate that Adam Gilchrist would be proud of.

You've listed only one acknowledge good midfielder (Kerr), and the rest are either "will get betters", "did well in the WAFL" types, or taggers. Masten might become a good player in the future, no question. But apart from Kerr, and possibly Embley if he regains fitness, you have zero midfield quality. The problem is JW built a whole midfield structure around supporting Judd, and when he left you were left with a massive midfield talent black-hole, and a gross over-supply of midfield-tagger types. This short-sighted list management, plus the ramifications from the Weagles rampant endemic drug culture, will be the reason the Weagles will slide out of the 8 in 2008. :)

Since when can someone not pass criticism of another Club if they come from a weaker Club i.e. how can Carlton fans not be allowed to comment on other Club's midfield just because we came 15th?

Stupidest logic ever.
