I don't know about you guys but i think our gameplan needs to be re-jigged a little in order to get our consistentcy and wins back on the board. Watching the game last night, i noticed that we never run and carry the ball, brake the lines, play on after a mark. I realise we miss Walker a little but as we know, one man doesn't change a team. Where is our courage to take the game on? We have very good midfielders with pace and skill but our gameplan is very stop start which doesn't let us use our most attacking weapon to it's full. This stop start football is leting oposition teams get back in numbers and double even triple team Fev. People i think are blaming the structure of our forward line, i don't think it is our main problem. If we got the ball down their quicker, run and carry, it give our forwards a chance, one on one. Now if the reason for use not imploying this type of gameplan which is very successive at Hawthorn, St.Kilda etc (the top teams) is fitness, then that is fairly disgraceful and we are in for another shocking year which i pray to god we aren't.
Another thing was either our it was our fitness or desire to win the ball but when ever we lost it (which was quite often) there was 3,4 or 5 Saints players streaming forward trying to recieve a handball while our players either stood and watched or couldn't keep up. It happened quite often at stoppages and turnovers.
Not sure what you guys think but the game is evolving into hard running football. I think our gameplan need to change in order for us to win games in the long run. I'm trying to find a solution for a problem (which is winning games) rather than bad mouthing players and coaches, thoughts?
