The injury management looks horrible. Players regularly reinjuring.

King
Phillipou
Howard

Definitely something off.
Apart from these 3 the list is the shortest in the AFL. Not sure anything is off other than the players bodies not responding to treatment that would be fairly standard across the competition.
Howard is one of those players that now will have reoccurring soft tissue for the rest of his career. There’s nothing really that can fix this outside of preparation and even that has no guarantee.

Shortest now.. Go back earlier in the season. Bombers have lost a few recently.

However, a more nuanced one would be around no of games missed by top 22… don't know where to find to find those stats.

Injury lists fluctuate. If they stay long for extended periods you’d worry. The 3 you named are repeat scenarios. There are players that are prone to repeat injuries at the same or similar locations. It’s what happens in sport and some players are just unfortunate that way. Not sure there is any incompetence from the medical team.

Club doctors administer general health of the players, medications and will be part of concussion rehab and the like. The club physios and performance coaches deal with injury management.
Ok, but the man is still departing the job, and the buck stops at the top.....is he going of his own volition?

"Hawthorn star Will Day is still recovering from his own stress fracture, but the midfielder is only a few weeks away from returning from the navicular bone injury.

The Hawks have been struck by a spate of back stress fractures to young players across the past 18 months. Will McCabe was sidelined for four months early last year, while Calsher Dear missed the first four months of this year and has only managed one AFL appearance in 2025."

Sounds like they need to fire their medical staff too tbh...

...or maybe injuries just happen sometimes.

Nah, it’s all to do with load management, or so I heard.

Hearing its Dave Missons fault

Phillipou listed as still 3 weeks away! Hopefully, he can return this year and play in the last few games.

Carroll hasnt had a good run, would be putting pressure on his chances of getting a further contract.
Agree. He has shown a bit with his limited opportunities but given his run with injuries he will be up against it especially if we hold onto some of our OOC players

But that's just luck. A best 22 is no more or less likely to get injured than a VFL gop.
