The development of Reid, Dawes and N. Brown has been exceptional. They've all done enough this year to suggest bright futures Add in Cloke and we seem to be well set for KPP for a fair while.

The great news is that we appear to be well set for midfielders too.

I thought it was our KP's that really needed to stand up if we were to be legitimate contenders this year and I havn't been dissapointed. They've exceeded my expectations. Hine is to be commended on this I think. In alot of ways our club was going to live or die by his decision to go KP in that draft. If they didn't come on we would be in trouble. But leaving the selection of KP's any later and they wouldn't have had the appropriate time to develop in time for our premiership window. It was a gutsy move and looks to be paying off at this stage.

Considering how hard quality KPP's are to find getting these three in one draft is fantastic. To have guy of Jack Anthony's quality outside of the best 22 is just crazy. With a few of the guys coming on we have gone from having a questionable KPP stock to a strong one.

They've been immense. To be top of the ladder and flag favourites, while having 3 KPPs who have 25 games or less each to their credit, is pretty amazing in this day and age.

Will be hard to keep guys like Jack on our list moving forward.

He would be getting a game at 15 other clubs, and wont blame him when he moves to play every week.

IF he does we should get something good back

It's amazing that all 3 of Dawes, Reid and Brown (of the Nathan variety) came out of the same draft, that never happens, and especially at Collingwood, where let's just say our KP drafting "pre Hine" was below average.

Hine and his "crew" have to get a lot of credit for the way our KP stocks have grown since he took over as head of recruiting (or whatever his job title is).

Brown showed enough that when/if Presti want's to retire (I still believe he will break Michael Tuck's games record:p) we have a very handy backup in Brown, who will only get better with senior experience.

We are in a "good" position KP wise.:thumbsu:

Not to mention that over the next several years we could be handed a couple of decent KPPs on a platter in J Starcevich and D Moore. :)

The Start of the Season some Posters where saying all 3 Where Busts. They change there tunes now;)

I just hope we don't end up losing players such as Jack Anthony or Nathan Brown who have found it tough to be regulars in season 2010.

Hopefully we can keep our KPPs together because we have done extremely well recruiting and developing them.

Bit of a wrap for Brown. The guy is still an average player, gets out marked alot and I have very low confidence in him playing on any KP forward atm. Obv plenty of upside, but don't think he has done anything this year to warrant receiving a tick alongside Dawes and Reid.

Know nothing about them. Are you being speculative or are they seriously touted as top draft picks?
Moore is too young to get too excited about, but is one of the top junior going around in his age group. Starcevich is an unknown quantity, but would be a decent chance to be WA's U18 CHF next year, so we'll get a good look at him soon.

If Jack is so good, how come our VFL team keeps loosing and no-one is putting in a blinder of a game ?

Reckon you might see a trend of one week injuries starting at the same time our seconds began to falter

Only this week we took out 4 of the top 5/6 vfl players and replaced them with non afl players and u18s

Out of curiosity, with all three of those boys in our 22, what is our avg age/games roughly? We'd have to be pretty young flag favourites with Reid, Sidebottom, Beams, Dawes, Brown, Wellers, and Blair in the side.

Against Geelong we were 24 to 27. I'd say with the puts we would be roughly 23/24 against the bombers as well

We were 24-27? Or we were 24 and Geelong were 27? I figured we were around the 23 range, which is a great position to be in, still haven't hit our straps developmentally/physically.

That 2006 draft has in reality set us up to have a real tilt at the premiership - not only this year, but for the next few.

To nab Reid, Brown, Dawes, Dick, Goldsack; then Wellingham and Macaffer in the Rookie Draft is an amazing return, with Medhurst the wildcard also.

Seriously good drafting...

No kidding. I was looking over the class of 2006 a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how well we'd drafted. At the same time last year, I remember thinking that the 06 draft was a bit of a bust. Goes to show that you need to give it some time before making a final assessment. Now it seems like the 2007 draft was a bust, but here's hoping that next year Wood, McCarthy & Barham prove me wrong.

Yeah Last Year only Dick has showed he could play well at AFL Level then this year the rest of the 06 Draft Class have really Come on and as Hine Said know it's just about our whole Spine
