Has anyone who watches the VFL regularly seen a decent CHB/FB type that isn't getting a game because the senior players ahead of them are too good?

We picked up Laidler because he was being kept out of the team by Mackie, Enright and the Dirty SOS Sniper, we need to look for similar situations to offer more game time.
Joel tippet is the pick of the defenders in the sanfl

Make sure you don't remember your post too much in 12-24 months when he starts playing with confidence.
I'll keep an eye out. Staker will put his head over the ball and play with a selfless team ethos. He will do me. Watts will still be flicking his fringe, looking up at the scoreboard whilst playing some nice football.

Warnock is the finals specialist. His game vs sydney three years aho was immense.

Trade hammer to bris.

Keep warnock..unless it can get us pick one in a combo

hmm, think we'd be wiser to spend our trading chips elsewhere.
We shouldn't put all our eggs in the Dale Thomas basket...

Scotland might retire
Judd and Simpson will be 30 plus next year
Betts might leave

Lamb is a developing wingman/flanker who could improve our bottom six. Pick 21 in Watson's draft. IF Lamb wants to leave and we miss out on Thomas, then I hope we have a look.

Our Betts compensation might be similar to the second round pick Port received for Pearce or Chaplin. Pick 30 or pick 31. Would put it or our second pick on the trade table for a player like Lamb.
Warnock straight swap would do it, but I'm hesitant to trade him after seeing his impact recently :(
A second year swingman is worth more than Warnock. We're talking about a KPP who was a top ten pick like Lachie Henderson. We'd have to offer up Lucas or Yarran. #waitsforaYarranorLucashater

If we were going to trade one of the ruckmen, then hammer to one of the syndey teams may be the best option.

Meggsy Gale has a place and spends a lot of time in Sydney and I am sure she wouldn't be against moving there.

Does anyone else think Mick may be playing Warnock this last month to increase his trade value? We obviously need to give up something good to get something good and his value is going up on a weekly basis. Just a thought considering his comments on Kreuzer earlier on in the year.

Mick has little choice really. Nothing has really changed as every time we're all happy to off-load Warnock, he shows us why we shouldn't.

Lucas has really skirted under the radar recently. No contract in hand and it may just start becoming uneasy for him......unless

Wouldn't discount the fact that he was the only fully fit ruckman for much of that time.

Fair point.
Although I'm sure it hasn't hurt. Both he and Matty play their best footy as the #1 ruck, Hammer is certainly adequate backup. Wonder if anyone is silly enough to give us a pick in the teens for him (think Cameron Wood, except can actually ruck and isn't a knob).

Kruezer and Warnock both like been the number one ruck but their stints don't seem to last long considering how injury prone they both are.

This Staker talk scares me. Hes 29. We already have too many players around that age and all I see it doing is inhibiting the development of Watson. Watson can play. Waite will be gone soon and we will have no choice but to play Hendo forward. Waite and Staker will bow out around the same time. I watched Rob Wileys interview and he was very sheepish when probed on that Staker meeting. Really uneasy about this.

JONATHON Patton is a powerful marking machine who loves imposing himself on a contest, but needs to work on his aerobic capacity.

Would love to see Patton in Navy Blue. Have him leading out of the goal square as our FF with Levi or Hendo at CHF. Trade value atm would surely be less than pick 1 (Boyd) given his injury issues. Already has a couple of years of development in him, has shown glimpses at senior level, and seems surplus too GWS's needs. I know they wont let him go cheap, but I'd be happy to throw Warnock, our first rounder and a sweetner at them Possibly our second round pick or another player, like Lucas (reluctantly so), could get it done.
Assuming we do our due diligence checks around his injuries of course.

I agree. If you want someone like Patton, you have to give up enough that it hurts a bit. All depends on what is more important to us in the future - and big key forward like Patton or the players we let go for him.

I know he was the number one draft pick couple years ago, but giving up first two round draft picks and a good ruckman that don't grow on trees is just too much
