I might just be a bit annoyed after the let-down against Sydney, but I am sick of Yarran. I am sick of him bobbing up every now and again to do something flashy and just screw it up. The rest of the time he doesn't seem to care. He had one good passage of play where he sharked the ball and ran through the middle with some poise whilst waiting for an option, but that was really it today. Nothing else worth mentioning I reckon.

I want more Malceski and Jack type players - gut run the whole time and just work super hard. Footballers.

time to swing the ax. i am pleased with where we ended up this year but to get better we do need to make some big changes. not being active in last years off season had a big affect on us this year, in all honestly we fell into the finals by default although we performed well.

Delist: JOSEPH, Collins, Dale,Okeefe, Mitchell(shame to say this), McCarthy and Davies

Trade: Duigan, Hampson/Warnock , Yarran, Rowe and more than likely lose Eddie to F/A

Retire: Scotland??

i would love the club to throw the money at martin over thomas. but if we can get either id be more than happy.

Would also like to see Yarran and a pick packaged off to GWS for Patton or something similar.

I like the idea of staker to fix some temporary holes in the side whilst we look for a more permanent solution.

The great thing about our game is all it takes is 1 off season for a team to go bang! and we could be that side especially with mick at the helm leading the way.

It's sad that there is a chance some well known players may move on during trade week/month but its just plain obvious the list will get us nowhere. Changes need to be made and it looks extremely likely we'll see the backs of 10 or so players.

I am a harsh critic of CY but tonight apart from being beaten a couple of times in the 3rdQ he went OK.
I did not know what to make of his kicking the ball off the ground twice in one passage of play but I will reserve my judgement as I realize he is not a conventional dude

With the season done & dusted now's a good time to look at the changes to our list for 2014:

Delist
Casboult
Davies
Duigan (his 4 goal EF not enough to save him)
Ellard
Joseph
Mitchell
Collins
Dale
O'Keeffe

Retired
Scotland
Waite (based on comments he made in the interview with Ben Dixon shown on Fox Footy prior to tonight's game)

Trade
Laidler
Hampson
Lucas (only because I think he has currency & his loss won't leave a gaping hole)

FA
Betts

Promoted
Bell

In total, 12 off our main list & 3 rookies.

Hopefully we can get our hands on a couple of extra 2nd round/early 3rd round picks & end up with 4-5 picks in the Top 40 of the draft.

Although this would be a significant turnover of our list, it doesn't harm the core of the list around which we need to build the team for the future.

Looks set to be a pretty intriguing month or so. If Yarran has value on the market and we are presented a good offer, we should look to offload him. Betts leaving will hurt, but it's probably better in the long run. I really struggle to see us winning a premiership with Yarran, Garlett and Betts in the team. Too much inconsistency and lack of a hard edge.

Something needs to be looked at with regards to the forward line. We need a big target other than Waite, Casboult really isn't going to cut it at this level. If not, at least a key defender to allow Henderson to play forward. This is really where Watson needs to step up, hopefully with a solid pre-season and secure CHB for us.

Would still like us to target either a key forward or back this trade season. I am sure there are many options at GWS or GC that we can look at, and I am also very keen on Taylor Adams. Please, a quality midfielder and tall forward/back, we need to cut our losses with the guys we have tried developing (apart from Watson) and have a real crack at others from opposing clubs.

I am in agreement with you. Yarran was far from our worst player, in fact I would have him in our top half a dozen players tonight. He handled the constant pressure from the Swans far better than some of his more experienced teammates.

Absolutely must throw everything we can at getting Tom Boyd. You would have to sacrifice a Gibbs or Yarran plus Warnock and a pick but its more than worth it for the luxury of having a 12 year full forward who will be a star.

I don't have Fox Footy, so can someone tell me what he said??
I don't remember his exact words, but he sort of hinted he would be weighing up whether to go around again next season. I suspect his body has just about had enough (he seemed to suffer a back spasm late in last week's game, which would have put the wind up him given how much it hampered him in 2012).
