Yarran and Menzel for Sloane.
GET IT DONE CARLTON.

Tell me you're joking or a nasty pm is on it's way. :)

We win..............we have a good list. We lose...............and David Rodan is better than anything we have on our list.

Our list isn't balanced and we've held onto some for too long but that will be remedied starting this year. Looking forward to the next couple of months.

I wonder if they will move Lucas on.
Seemed to get a match week in week out throughout most the year, then at the latter part of the year got a niggle and didn't come back at all to the seniors.

What we get for him? 2nd Rounder?

What us fans tend to do is to isolate a player here and there to talk about, which is fair enough but the list has to be viewed as a whole.

There will be several players who won't be given contracts until such a time as the trade period is over.
That's just the prudent thing to do considering we're coming from some way back for poor list management in the past two years.

We'll have the first round of de-listees this week and I expect we'll see something like 4 - 6 players named as gone.
We'll then go to trade and see what is possible. Some players may be offered contracts thereafter as they'll know where they stand in terms of their asking price.
We'll then have another round of de-listing which should really be our last. Maybe another 2 - 3 players there.
We'll then know whether we'll hit the PSD and what we'll have available in terms of picks for the ND and the rookie draft.

Considering just how many possibilities may come about for the players we may want to move on, this will be a pretty tricky exercise.
You can't just get rid of ten players and bring ten in. The financial considerations are heavily linked to what we can do.

The good thing is that we knew what we were in for many months ago now. Should hold us in good stead..........................Let's hope.

Lucas for a mid range kpp. I like lucas but is surplus to needs..maybe brown from the cokers?

Would certainly chase the bris players too. Karnezis for free is worth q punt. Could be anything. .or nothing. Haha

Injuries. Needs to put a lot more weight too if he wants to play AFL.

Yeah, would prefer to keep Warnock or Yazz but if we could manage to get some other ruck option (assuming we let Hampson go) and package both for #1 (Read:Tom Boyd), I would take it. Just seems so many people are convinced that we will not get #1.

Spot on about balance. The team cannot win big finals with 3 small forwards who can't rotate on the ball. The team cannot win big finals without ruckmen that contribute around the ground.... ie. Mumford was terrific last night. The team cannot win big finals without consistent toughness, footy smarts and quick hands around the packs and clearances. The team cannot win big finals without outside runners who can collect from the inside mids.

They are the problems to solve and Captain Obvious tells us who should be available for trade bait. Trade bait must be attractive but doesn't just mean delist, sack or whatever. They only go if it helps our balance. No easy decisions but vital for the future team balance.

Therefore, up for trade bait:

Garlett
Yarren
Warnock
Hampson
Lucas
Robinson
Bell

Very good ND picks or very smart player exchange only. One cannot land the catch unless using the right bait. We will see.:footy:

Lucas is a nice player, but poor kickingand tackling stand out a lot. We ned more mids.. not more 'nice' soft cocks.

He is a player who would be a great complement to a team thats challenging and needs pace. We have too many holes to fill before we think about pacy outside softies.

With Judd, Simpson and Carazzo getting older there would no point getting Boyd unless we are doing a St Kilda/WBesque rebuild.

Why? He would be in our top 12 players. Certainly aj upgrade on the wing and an option at half back.
Because i feel Tuohy, Walker and simpson all provide more. As for being in our top 12.

I have (in no particular order):
Judd, murphy, simpson, walker, mclean, kreuzer, henderson, jamison, carazzo, curnow, garlett, betts, touhy, robinson all ahead of Harry O

Fair enough. I think we would be a nice upgrade in that mid range group and add pace. Every now ans then plays a blinder. Loves mick. Would cost nothing.

Agree with all except carrots and robbo.

Obviously betts wont be there

Carrots was immense when fit. I worry he never will be again.

I think robbo is an atrocious afl player but get his plaudits for being hard. He might not surviveth cull.

The champ is on his way out too, as much as it pains me to say. We need to start managing him a heap better or suffer with reduced longevity

Think we need younger talent with better decision making ability, skill level and pace.

Harry O often burns the ball because he runs himself into trouble by trying to do to much.
