Could be entirely wrong in my summation - as I am not on the inside of the club - but on first thoughts

1) Armfield or Lucas- who do you keep?
Armfield has been in the system for a while and still has poor disposal. Good speed.
Lucas better disposal - reasonable speed. both can break the lines. One could go.

2) Delist/retire/trade - Waite.
2) Delist Hampson.

3) Keep Warnock. Showed a bit in the finals.

4) Keep Scotland - if he can go around for one more year on reduced wage.

5) Keep Tom Bell - could be an inspirational player

6) The dilemma - Yarran.

Great skills, followed by one handed marking attempts which he drops, poor shots at goal (especially set shots)...so is he unsuited to forward line?
He is good in defence - but can't make his tackles stick or spoil very well... therefore unless he fixes this does this mean he is better suited to being a winger/midfielder? It would be tempting to hold onto him for one more year, but am not on the inside of the club, so more material needs to be considered.

Good luck!

Go Blues !

I love all those players.

Maybe it adds flexibility though. Im desperate to see walker play as a mid.
RP84, I'd love to see Walker to play as a mid (considering we initially drafted him as one....). But I don't see the need for Harry O, personally, I don't see him as a necessary piece that adds or address our list's underlying issues.

I'd much rather Lucas play on the HBF.

I think the outs are

Betts
Hampson
Ellard
joseph
Potentially lucas (perfect trading partners with freo or the cokers)
Laidler (unfortunately)
Maybe duigan (would hurt after that game)
Mcarthy
Okeefe
Maybe yarran
Scotland (ret)

Fair enough. I personally think on the balance of it he would cost nothing and lucas is nice trade bait to perth after a good season.

Free harry ans potentially get a latr first rounder or a big body

[quotie="Just Kreuzing, post: 30159645, member: 60115"]Fair enough. I think we would be a nice upgrade in that mid range group and add pace. Every now ans then plays a blinder. Loves mick. Would cost nothing.
Think we need younger talent with better decision making ability, skill level and pace.

Harry O often burns the ball because he runs himself into trouble by trying to do to much.
That is a good point. Read my later post though. Will cost nothing and gives room to kove on the list with trading lucas. His value is at an all time high

I certainly think waite has plenty to offer and owes the club.

Is ridiculously talented. I want to see him get as fit as ever and repay the faith.

On a trade perspective: Trading for picks only (representing value)
*Dangle Casboult under the doggies noses see if they will bite for maybe a third rounder. (pick 40ish)
*Package Duigan and Ellard up and send them to Melbourne (they need guys who will give it there all) for there third rounder. (pick in the late 30s)
*I would send Warnock packing to GWS (sell high) for there end of first round pick

I also don't think bell deserves a senior contract just yet. Like him, but needs to improve his skills or be a gun tagger like curnow

True. I love to have two first rounders. But I just feel with our lack of young mids it would be short sighted not to start developing those players (even if it does cost us games). Harry O would be a cheap get but I think we have an inhouse solution in Bootsma.

He's 191cm, has great spoiling ability, tackling pressure, and pace, just needs to build his tank.

Mick said he would keep players who perform in finals...on those grounds I think Warnock is safe.

Clearly one of Carlton's better players in both finals.

Warnock is a keeper for me too. We need at least two good ruckmen. Not one good ruckman.

Some (probably a lot) would hate this, but I would love to see Lucas and Yarran for Sloane and a 3-4 round pick.

Two players in, two players out. We lose an outside runner who has not really stepped up or played regularly and a flashy, but flakey guy who always has a bit of a question mark on his head about whether he will reach potential.

We get a late pick to do what we please with, and we get a much needed inside and outside midfielder who plays with 100% effort and heart, and is also a Victorian too.

Like any trade worth doing, it hurts us a little bit but the benefit it provides is worth it. We need more young midfielders who are hungry and are pure footballers - Sloane is all of that. He is also pretty damn young too, so this isnt just a short-term fix.

Thoughts?

I don't think we could get him, Adelaide will want to hold on to him, the offer would have to be major overs to pry him out

Boots will be immense but I thinj they llay different roles. Boots is the tweener defender. Harry can play multiple roles.

I think we can add for now and keep all our high picks.

Im a big staker fan. Again, free.

Harry for free.

Daisy for free.

One of docherty, yeo, or polec.

Karnezis fir free (albeit a gamble)

We have some desirable players with currency. We could build a dynasty this year. Massive opportunity for now and future building.

Just need to find balance.

Shit like 1.4 mil a year for rucks alone is atrocious list management

Warnock has dominated 2 out of 3 finals and held his own last night. I love him. Clearly our best pure ruck.

The only way id give him up is to get the once in a generation forward (boyd). Id happily send Warnock, yaz, duigan and Laidler for that pick.

Boyd will be a j brown. Imagine having something like that.

Shandog, as much as I love Sloane, what your proposing make us sound like a basketcase club.

By trade two first rounder players in Lucas and Yarran, for one player in Sloane and a pick in the 30/40s. You would instantly weaken our list whilst strengthening a rival's list in Adelaide.

The void left by those two would be immense. It would mean we'd basically have no young mids outside of last years draft to replace the Judd, Simpson, Carazzo generation.

Outs.
Betts F/A
Yarran Trade
Lucas Trade
Armfied Trade
Hampson Trade
Duigan Trade/Keep
Bell?? Trade
Ellard Trade
Laidler Trade/Keep

Joseph Delist
Dale Delist
O'Keefe Delist
Collins Delist/Trade
Buckley Delist/Keep (just going of the rumors with this one)
Mitchell Delist
Davies Delist

Ins.
B.Vince Trade
D.Thomas F/A
S.Selwood Trade
X.Ellis F/A
B.Staker Trade
C.Sylvia F/A
A.krakouer Draft
8 Drafties/ other trades and or F/A
Also wouldn't Mind throwing a bit of cash dustys way.

Team looks like this

B. McInnes (21) Jamison (27) Simpson (30)
HB. Touhy (24) Watson (22) Walker (27)
C. Gibbs (25) Judd (30) Thomas (27)
HF. Vince (28) Henderson(24) Sylvia (28)
F. Menzel (19) Waite (30) Garlett (25)
FOL. Warnock (27) Murphy (26) Carrazzo (30)
INT. S.Selwood (24) Kreuzer (25) Robbinson (25)
SUB. McClean (28)

Good things about the team.
1. 10 Players in Simpson, Walker, Touhy, Vince, Sylvia, Garlett, Menzel, Selwood, McLean, Robbinson who can rotate through the middle.
2. The Average age of that side is 26 years old which i think is a good balance of youth and experience.
3. The Depth would be Fairly Decent With the likes of Krakouer, Ellis, Staker, Rowe, Casboult, Bootsma, Graham, White, Curnow and Cachia.
4.Still allows for us to recruit a few good drafts with so many delisting.

Bad things.

Simpson, Judd, Waite and Carrazzo all being 30 means they are getting very close to the end. in saying that all could play another 3 years, giving us plenty of time to find replacement.
