they don't shaft teams, they are just smart operators, i have said this before, but a lot of teams should be trying to trade up the table and get more picks like the Giants have been able to
SOS is the master, he's just brilliant at everything he does, Fullback of the century, Engineered the saints back line when they were challenging (I say engineered because architects have no idea what there talking about) and then decided to test his hand at list building, lo and behold he kicks butt at that too.

Agree - we need GWS to get better draft picks and pick up the best young talent, so that after 2 years of development we can recruit them.

Wouldn't even say they're smart operators.

Let's face it, they wrote their own trade rules hand in hand with the AFL.

I think GWS have not put a foot wrong the entire period. They have moved really well - credit where it is due. They are the big winners of this trade period but as you suggest, they had a bit to work with.

Well we've kicked the door in so other clubs can get some deals done...

PA In: Polec, 21, 45 Out: 14, 34

BL In: 22, 34 Out: Polec 29

GWS In 14, 29 Out: 21,22

Port do well if Polec kicks on to become anything. Brisbane did probably as well as they were going to...GWS win regardless.
Bizarre trade that could help the Taints get their hands on Boyd, Kelly, Lennon, Hartung and Hourigan or Giles.

Brisbane should get 14.

I guess the draft is even, rather than a standout like 2004 and 2005 which had a better top end.

Heard he barracked for Carlton as a kid. We should try to recruit him.

Seriously though, through GWS SOS has got an inside view of the best new talent in the last 3 years which is a very marketable attribute.

frankly i'm a little frightened at how good the Giants will be in 2-3 years, they will just fly by a lot of teams in the next couple of seasons and stay up near the top for a long time.

Also doesn't do too bad at picking a partner.

Agreed. I'm not keen on picking up a fringe player like Everitt, would rather role the dice on a youngster in the national draft.
Reckon he more than held his own in 2013

Whether or not he had a career year remains to be seen.

Still.........if we can get him for 51, and whatever else.........I'd have a dash at him.

Everitt will not happen. 51 is not enough and 32 is too much. Would need us to get a very late 2nd round for a deal. This is what we probably want for Bootsma but Weagles don't have one.
