Duigan EF was pretty special. Laughed about how they just grabbed him from the stands while he was eating subway. Sad that Mclean didn't get to play in the final though since he deserved it.

Geeze left the mac for an arvo and an evening after endless hours of nada and trade month blows it's top on me.

Stoked that doc finally gets to us but I hope Andy McKay had a balaclava on when he signed the papers because that was daylight robbery. At last, we get a chance to sit our cards, call a bluff and take the pot. Sweeeeeeeet.

But can some body please explain to me how the giants ended up with another first round pick while Brisbane, the team who traded the former pick 5 player, ended up with a slightly upgraded second rounder and a shuffle of later picks?

SOS needs to be locked up while the trade period is on. And the draft for that matter.

Can't wait to see what the lions get for longer. They have so many picks in the second round now another one is almost superfluous. Reckon they may as well let him walk if the don't get one of the mcevoy picks. Dees would snavel him in the psd.

Carlton is making a strong bid for Sydney's Andrejs Everitt, having offered him more money and - the Blues believe - more opportunities to cement a position, with Everitt understood to be weighing up a move to Carlton or staying at Sydney. The Swans insist that Everitt is still a required player and want to keep him.
Yeah, that's why they couldn't find a contract for him until after Jed Lamb announced he was off to GWS

In theory it's easy. For ectomorphs like Boots (and myself), it is hard, but he should be doing better. I gained 8kgs one pre-season (over 16 weeks), stopped weights for less than 2 months and dropped 5 and a half kg's (went from 67kgs to 70kgs. Yeah, that skinny). I still gained 3 kgs of muscle whilst working a full-time job and not having time to fully prepare proper meals.

If your job was to gain weight and get paid for it you should gain at least 5 or 6 over the pre-season. But it's not that easy to get 'stacked'.
I was ecto too, then i started eating and squatting lol!!

West to head north as Lions restore some pride
with the Lions set to acquire premiership ruckman Trent West from Geelong,
West to head north as Lions restore some pride

Wonder why the Cats aren't chasing Billy Longer. They've got young mids and young talls. Yet the likes of McIntosh, Simpson and Blicavs aren't inspiring ruckman. For one reason or another. A young ruck would be a good fit for Geelong's list. Especially with West leaving.
I particularly liked this part:
I like the part that we've offered Everitt more money than Sydney. I guess our cap isn't bursting after we signed Thomas for 700K 625K a year.

"He had spoken to Carlton as the Blues stood firm on their policy of one-year deals for veterans."

Great news Blues!! I am glad we are holding firm to our recruiting policies. A few years ago we probably would have signed a player like Staker on a 2 or 3 year deal (like Essendon have done with Chapman) and then we would have paid the price for it later.

This and sticking to our guns and only giving up 33 for Docherty (which is a bargain by the way) even though Brisbane made us sweat it out, has made me really happy. I think we are starting to become a professional club.

That is an impressive last, it will be more impressive if they can keep any more than 60% of that squad together once they are all off their rookie contacts and looking for a pay rise.

Any interest in a 3way trade with the Filth and the Paddle Pops.

Our third and Laids to Bris.
Karnezis to Coll.
Paine to us.

Laidler is gone, so we can take him out of the equation.... A third for Paine? Sounds a solid deal. I think Brisbane would prefer Paine to the Laidler/3rd package though.
