it's only 1 tub though... to get some weight on Bootsma, we might need a vat
Forget the Vat as ive said before send him to my house for a month and he will be 10kgs heavier than he is now, but don't send anyone here to lose weight because that's something im very poor at achieving..

Giants will struggle to field a side after letting go of Tunbridge, Hombsch, Jed Anderson, Dominic Barry, Jake Neade, Adams, Bruce, Darley, Aylett and Edwards.

B: Buntine (pick five) Tomlinson (pick nine) Jaksch (pick 12)
HB: Hampton (zone) Mohr (zone) Plowman (pick three)
C: Whitfield (pick one) Greene (pick 11) O'Rourke (pick two)
HF: Cameron (zone) Boyd (pick one) Hoskin-Elliott (pick four)
F: Smith (pick 14) Patton (pick one) Sumner (pick ten)
R: Downie (zone) Coniglio (pick two) Shiel (zone)

I/C: Kelly (pick two) Treloar (zone) Haynes (pick 7) Bugg (zone)

National draft selections: Corr (pick 14) Stewart (pick 27) Pick 14 Pick 29

Zone selections: Wilson Townsend Kennedy Golds Errin Wasley-Black (potential zone selection in 2013)

Squad doesn't include Scully, Ward, Davis, Lamb, Palmer, Shaw and Mumford.

SPUDS.

Wow, that is seriously scary (and well put together). The one thing that might save us is that there is no way that anyone could keep that list together. They start with all of the aces but GWS trading and drafting is nothing but quality. How they manage to get pick 2 AND 20 for Tyson (who you don't have on your list of guys who have left), how they manage to get pick 14 for Polec going from Brisbane to Port, and how they managed to get two premiership players for a player that wanted to leave and pick 39, is just brilliant work.

Even if gws start to lose players, they will get good draft picks for them. They are certainties to win a flag in the next 5 years.
How so? I think they're going to have major issues over the next 5 years. Clubs will be targeting their gun players. I'm sure interstate teams will be throwing cash at them and enticing them back to their home states as their contracts wind down. Already there has been a handful of quality players leave GWS and GC. There are already murmurings that Shiel and Treloar will move to Victoria next year. Patton and Boyd will be targeted heavily in the next 2 years and GWS won't get adequate compensation when they leave. Missing out on Buddy has also condemned them to the bottom next season as well. I just don't see a bright future for GWS over the next 5 years.

GWS will be fine once they also get a COLA sorted out by the AFL, as they also pay Sydney prices for living expenses. They should be able to prove they need to fight off the "go home" factor given the likely continued raids on their kids as they come out of contract.

Andrew McKay just on sports 927.
Saying we will try and get a deal done on Everitt today sounded very confident that it would get done also that we would be looking to try and draft a sweeping midfielder. (found this interesting because a lot of people have been saying we would be looking at an inside mid)

Didn't you hear Mick after our last game? We lack run

We need outside runners, sweepers

Inside mids are covered albeit lots of them are not white collar picks

If we need a sweeping mid, could that be a role they potentially see buntine filling?

Is he a better choice than who is likely to be available at pick 13?

Sweeping mid?!

A midfielder that hangs back off the contest and sets up the play? hmmmmmmmm

We should go for that Kane Lucas guy. Has really clean hands and can run all day, I understand.

I really want Lucas to show real spirit more than any other player on our list. Time is running out though. It really is up to him.

Said he was taking his talents to Royal Parade.

Carlton set to announce an introductory press conference for the signing of the Big Three at Optus Oval. Apparently premierships have been guaranteed, not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven.... hey, and when they say that they really believe it.

I agree - I remember being pretty pumped when he fell through to our Pick #12 in 2009, most saw him as a slider and was expected to go earlier to WCE.

Really need him to show something this year, he's had enough time in the system.

As for the sweeping mid comment ... who in the draft pool fits this description? (KK, Lennon?).

Mumford went for pick 35 (now pick 39), Lamb is expected to go for pick 48. I will be disappointed if we give anything more than our pick in the 50s.
The difference is GWS hold the higher ground given that they can pick the player in the PSD with first pick.

They couldn't pick both Mumford & Lamb in the PSD. That threat should only work once. Anyway. I don't see Macca giving up pick 32. He will not rate Everitt higher than Doc. Don't really want to hand over any players bar Duigan or Laidler. Would be annoyed if we gave them Lucas.
