By the time that a new one needs appointing, I'm thinking it will be Gibbs.

I'm agreeing.

Anyone else feel like Gibbs is serving an extended apprenticeship and will be unleashed just as we make a powerful push for a premiership and will becoming one of the most valuable players in the league? Am I being a bit optimistic?

Just back to Marc Murphy for a second.

Before this round he was ranked 3rd in the competition (if I'm not mistaken, might have been 4th. He was definitely above Swan) for contested possessions, behind Watson and Judd respectively.

Fair to say he is pretty hard at the footy and imposes himself physically. Also is up there in the tackle stats as someone else mentioned.

I would LOVE to see one of the #1's get the captaincy after Judd. Preferably Murphy, but would still love to see it given to Gibbs or Kreuzer.

I understand there's a lot of love for Jamo, and I think he would make a great skipper too. But one of the #1's being made skipper would almost be a fairy tale story. And nobody can argue that Murphy doesn't deserve it with the year he is having.

I guess the only question (which none of us can answer in my opinion) is who is the least likely to let the added pressure of the captaincy affect their game in a negative way?

My idea of a fairy tale story would be a player not picked in the draft. Toiled away in the VFL, eventually invited to train with our team in 2006/07. Worked his arse off while battling injuries through the first few seasons. Wins best club man award and promoted to the leadship group in 2010. Hosted an award winning(ok i made the award part up) Podcast for the club in that same year. Currently in AA form as a full back following his first injury free preseason.......guess who. :D

But I'd be very happy with Murph, and I proudly wear number 3 on my Carlton top.

1. Very true. I would not be opposed to Jamo being our next skipper, by any stretch of the imagination. :thumbsu:

2. Same here. I've got a huge man crush on that guy, in case you hadn't noticed. :D :p

We should give it to Carrots he actually won a BF. didn't Teague win one once?

At the moment JR would be close to last in this years BF. Played just OK last week , other than that he has had a pretty average year.

I would love to see if Kruez becomes the player we all think he is going to be as well as Captain our side.

That's hardly fair. Carrazzo didn't go through an extremely traumatising experience like Teague did.

You never get tired of talking out of your arse, do you?
