Even if Hardwick is available, and even if his management reaches out to Port Adelaide, Koch would still take the steady as she goes "stability" of a Hinkley extension.

Koch would need Ken to say 'look, i think it's time for me to step down, on a $100000000 a year contract wit God Coast'... I think a parting of the ways could be well on the cards, a nice one in August.

Can our next coach please demand all players walk out with their frakking socks up!

Looks so ******* good. None of this do what ypu like soft arse s**t.

Wear the kit as intended.

JHF FTW.
By the time the "next coach" comes along there will be no socks. They'll be playing in one-piece skin suits, like in Buck Rogers.

Thought Josh Carr was outstanding tonight.

Saints have the system so he goes 1-on-1 brilliant.

Imho this is Carrs fingerprints all over this
This is not hinkly!
All the attention is on ken at the bench... Meanwhile, the shots are clearly being called from the box by Carr.

I'm sure it's evident to those that matter what is really going on here. My nightmare of an extension for ken happening based on another man's coaching ability are surely farfetched.

Hinkley certainly isn't down on the bench by choice. He's on the record as saying he doesn't like it down there. It's patently clear he's been ordered down there by the powers that be.

Looking at that chart you can also say:

2003: Yes
2004: No
2005: No
2006: No
2007: No
2008: No

2010: Yes
2011: No
2012: No
2013: Yes

2016: No
2017: No
2018: No
2019: Yes
2020: Yes

So could also say you need one that's already won a premiership before to win one again in 50% of instances..

So now that we've missed out on the likes of Craig McRae, Adam Kingsley, Adem Yze, Damien Hardwick etc. that's some of the absolute best options that were available we've missed out on, thus shortening our options. After all, WhO ArE YoU GoInG tO GeT???!!!11

I was extremely keen on Adem Yze and he was my number one priority, but now that that dream is over, I'm turning my attention to Nigel Lappin who is currently an assistant at Geelong.

He played alongside Craig McRae all throughout Brisbane's three-peat and has served as an assistant at Geelong since 2009, so he's come from two different and very successful backgrounds, having been involved in six premierships.

I'm so deeply entrenched in the "Anybody but Hinkley" mindset that I'd still take someone like Jaymie Graham or Ash Hansen in a heartbeat, otherwise I think the next best option is Blake Caracella who played in two AFL premierships with two different clubs (Essendon 2000 & Brisbane 2003) and also spent time under Damien Hardwick as an assistant.

We keep missing out on replacements for Hinkley left, right and centre and unfortunately, we'll miss out on a few more while Hinkley is stupidly contracted for two more years, but right now I'm looking at Nigel Lappin.

Troy Chaplin returns and becomes Port Adelaide's second coach to win the AFL premiership. It is the only acceptable pathway.

Heard him interviewed prior to the GF to give a Brisbane perspective. Rambled on about Hinkley and what an incredible coach he is. Laughable. A firm no from me.

Of course he’s not going to publicly trash any coaches.

Craig McRae would say the same thing about Hinkley when prompted because that’s the diplomatic thing to do.

Wasn't Lappin on radio the other day saying how much he likes Ken?
