I'm sure this setup probably already exists without being explicitly named, see the clubs with notable senior assistants that used to be senior coaches.

Simpson as a senior assistant makes a lot of sense if JL was keen on it.

You still need one head, but Simpson could provide so much support.

People saying they want the coach sacked during the year. Are there genuinely any benefits to having a caretaker coach for the majority of the season? In an ideal world if the board agrees to move on JLO, they would conduct the review process during the season and hire the actual coach so that they can start implanting changes and building synergy.

I’d like to think the process is already underway.

I really like Simpson so he’s an option for me for sure, much prefer him to Kenny.
For me it’s Horse > Simmo > Bucks > Senior Assustant from successful club (Montgomery, King?) > Hinkley.
