100% We need someone who is going to instill some real confidence in the group and make them believe that there is hope.
Yep... We need some stability .

I get bagged out for wanting Ken Hinkley as coach.

But how many players have left Port under Ken Hinkleys stint? Ken Hinkley has got Port making finals and winning finals despite no flag or grand final appearance.

Again... I think Ken Hinkley at Fremantle could work for 5-7 years.

John Longmire would be good. Not many players left the swans with him as coach.

I don't care if he is a former eagles coach. Adam Simpson could work too. I have no issues having similar success like eagles had from 2014-2021.

Hell I don't mind a Brett Ratten too.

A decent experienced coach could give this side finals for 4 or 5 years in a row and a possible flag or grand final with this current playing list.

tipping this weekend against GWS could be pretty ugly. May well be the final nail in JL's coffin.

If it gets as ugly as i think, with a large margin (im tipping 10+ goals), surely that would indicate he's lost the players and/or has a game style that simply doesnt work.
No final nail after this week's performance.

If we start stringing games together & being able to absorb the outside pressure I will change my mind.

Simon needs to be canvassing quietly but hard across the AFL for a very good replacement.
Well, let's not make any mistakeavich, I'm still pretty certain Garlick is actually, still canvassing for a very good job at AFL house.

I'm a believer that actions speak louder than words.

Simon Garlick - Don't go spruiking your investment in the future and 5 year plans whilst applying for other jobs.

Peter "feather in my cap" Bell: Working outside of Perth - because it suits your other job, does not give people the impression you are totally invested in the Dockers.

Nat Fyfe - Don't be all about the "team first" mentality then drop your marbles when you are replaced as captain. Also, launching your own clothing label, and being brand ambassedor for about 5 other projects is not something a captain would get involved with if their sole focus was winning a maiden premiership.

Dale Alcock - The parties you host in the Western suburbs with politicians and town planners seem like a lot of fun. I'm sure it's completely coincidental that you seem to predict rezoning laws that allow building developments before anyone else of course.

When you say Ken Hinkley

What are you basing how he could work at freo.

Tactically he has always been poor.

And a lot of performances are based on emotion.

A lot of his early success was simply down to Burgess having them rock hard fit and running down teams in 2nd halves.

If anything his stubbornness to continue to stay at Port Adelaide is a red flag that he is completely delusional that the well was dry about 5 years ago.

One finals appearance between 2015-2019 and that was a extra time loss to West Coast.

Bevo is coaching very well this year. He'd make this side hum I reckon.
If we were a serious club he should have been offered the job for 2026 already.
For too long it’s been finals or bust and JLo hasn’t delivered.
Just because we are young, or a few injuries.
Every time we play the kids or injury we always find a few players.
It’s pure luck, not coach driven and that’s on him.
He is a good coach, we need great.

Who has had more finals wins since round 1 of 2020? Ken Hinkley or Justin Longmuir?

Geez, I get that you're making it a comparison with Longmuir, but in doing so you're inviting people to look this stuff up and Hinkley - well it a mediocre finals record isn't it.

How far do you wanna go back. In finals. It's 1 win out of the last 5, 3 wins out of the last 10, 6 wins out of 15.
Or if you wanna go from the the start to now to get the same result. It was 3 out of 5, 5 out of 10 and now it's 6 out of 15.

Even Ross who's not a premiership coach was about 50% at his peak with wins and losses in Finals.

Win/Loss of 50/50 seems about right to me as finals should be 50/50 games at the Top end of the ladder, but you'd hope somewhere you could jag a premiership if you got to play 15 of them.

Shocked that you didn't bring up freos history from 1995-2011.

Did we make back to back finals or made finals for 2 years in a row in that period?

Does it really matter.

Ken's has had a pretty decent roster which should be making finals most seasons.

Every time they have won a final they have been thrashed at home and a couple of those have been some of the most woeful finals performances anyway have dished up outside of the Swans on GF day.

If Longmuir does get punted i wont have a problem with it.

But anyone thinking Ken Hinkley is a better answer are kidding themselves.

Emotion only gets you so far.

Tactically i still have Longmuir ahead of Hinkley.

I respect your opinion as you've maintained it for a long time. But personally, I can't remember thinking Port were a realistic chance of winning the premiership heading into any of those finals series. It's arguably worse than being a middling team, never getting high draft picks and just making up the numbers come September.
