Will the Tigers go in as underdogs against Freo or are Richmond are GENUINE chance of beating Freo at the MCG?

Freo are playing good footy - good footy as in that dour defensive style of play. It will be interesting how Richmond do handle it. I remember Round 11 2012 when the Dockers were the underdogs and the game was played at the MCG. It was a wet day, rained heaps and the Dockers were just too good. I wonder if that game last year at the MCG plus the 1 point loss to Freo in Round 5 this year at Subiaco will be burning in the Tiger stomachs at Punt Road. I honestly feel that the Tige's are not out of this game and can beat Freo - but we will need to be on our game.

Just looking at Freo's draw. They play only two games at the MCG - first against Richmond (round 21) and the second against Melbourne in Round 21.

They've got a busy Round 21. :p

Today's game was very defensive. Hopefully we will go into next week's with the ability to counter the dockers - will need to lift a cog (and then another cog the week after to get over the Swans and Hawks).

We can beat them but need the intensity of the 2nd half tonight (not the 6 qtrs before that) where we sagged off and were reactionary. We're at our best when we hunt the ball and run in numbers. Do that we will be in the game for a long time no matter what. Add some good decision-making against a defensive Freo and we'll get the chocolates.

So looking forward to smashing Freo...avenge the 1 point loss!

And for ripping Richos foot off at Etihad in 2000 ending any finals chance that year along with beating us by less than a goal from a Modra goal. But I digress....

Pav, Mundy, Sandi and Barlow all with a game under their belt. Will be a great challenge and will mean something if we win.

Think we can beat Freo - team will be stronger this time around (as will theirs) but on our turf and with the tiger army to roar us on, I like our chances.

No McPharlin is also huge. Hopefully Jack can get off the leash and kick a bag :thumbsu:

Second game back from injury isn't necessarily a good thing. Body is still adjusting and those boys will be ironing out some stiffness and soreness from their first game back.

But yeah, winning this one will mean heaps!

I don't think Freo have played that well in the Derby against West Coast. West Coast put the Dockers under pressure and Freo made a lot of mistakes. If the Tigers can apply pressure to Freo then we are a chance.

Will be interesting how Richmond approach this game. I think the footy world will have Dockers favourites and rightly so but lets see how the Dockers go on the wide MCG instead of the long Paterson's Stadium.

I just don't think its cut-and-dry in Freo's favour. I think honestly that our team will match up well with their team.

Silvagni was very good today in filling McPharlin's deep shoes.

I will be there cheering them on, as I was last year. I'm going into this game pretty optimistic about our chances, really think we are a great chance to pull off the result, and it will really shut all the critics up and strike fear into the rest of the competition.

If we play like we did in Perth, with a bit more discipline, we will win. We just need to be desperate. They will keep coming. Hopefully Pav gets rubbed out.

? If you guys beat Freo wouldnt you rather it be against our strongest side?

And who says we're fielding our strongest side? Grimes is out, Chris Knights out, Maric nursing a groin, Cotchin has been playing like he's carrying an injury, Houli currently out with a hammy - listen I'll be VERY happy to nab the 4 points, I don't care what Freo's problems are!

You can see it now, hopefully we'll win and beat a side above us and then we'll hear opposition fans say, "oh, but pav wasn't playing so it doesn't count"
