Prediction Our next Star

Treloar is a given. Moore, DeGoey, Broomhead and Aish are exciting prospects.

We'll have to wait some time for Scharenberg, and given his injuries all bets are off.

Elliot, Williams and Greenwood have shown enough to generate very high expectations.

Treloar is the only one I can see bring in that conversation.

Don't think De Goey will get there. Nor Moore unfortunately.

De Goey, Moore and Grundy can all be stars.

De Goey can be a brownlow medalist. Grundy can be the best ruckman in the game. Moore may be our next captain and one of our two key forwards we can build around.

Just as you'd say of Pendlebury, Swan and Cloke. It's not like we've only had one star these past six or so years and we've got three guys who could reasonable be able to become star level performers.

Brayden Maynard.
Good call spartan-magpie I saw him a couple of weeks ago in person and for such a young kid he is built like a tank already.

Hopefully he starts hitting those targets lace out which I think he is more than capable to do.

I think we have our next raging bull with Maynard. Big and strong, very hard it. Has nice skills, will improve with game time. Expecting a breakout season from the young Minotaur.

Fasolo.

Has shown he has enough talent to reach that level, just needs things to click. A full preseason will give him a good chance, don't underestimate how much his serious foot injuries set him back.

I hope so. He showed signs this year, glimpses of 2012, but somehow his kicking let him down.

I don't understand the comparisons between Langdon and Clement. Kid isn't and won't ever be fit to lick the slime of Jimmy's boots.

On the other hand, Maynard excites me enormously. In terms of the premise of this thread though, it has to be Taylor Adams. Kid will be a superstar.

Agree that Langdon is no Clement, though not sure it's necessary to put it the way you did.
Maynard and Adams are my type of players too - Taylor clearly has the drive to get there.
If by 'star' we mean best player on the list [as in heir-apparent to Pendles], I vote Treloar, Moore and JDG, in that order.

There's an array of likely candidate - Moore, De Goey, Adams, et al.

I have a liking for Broomhead. Might not be the very next star but there's every likelihood that several of these boys will make a stamp on 2016. He has had his share of bad luck but has some very nice skills. It probably wont happen overnight but it will happen.

He is gonna he super when finals comes around will take cotchin to the cleaners him and degoey in tandom
Still remember the game against port where he got reported for the incident with westhoff and still managed to keep his head in the game and kick this absolute pearler.

Elliott is almost the forgotten one here.

Was ripping games apart in he first half of the year, injury/move up the ground/other issues curtailed his last half but with the addition of two midfielders in Treloar and Aish he'll be back closer to goals next year.

If he's in the right head space and gets a clear run with injuries, opposition backman will be shitting themselves.

Pretty ruthless or Pies hater? why do you think that?

I'm a Pies lover, so certainly so the former is probably closer to the mark.

I think we are shaping up a very strong young list, but who will be the next star? As I said, I think it will be Treloar.

Moore is looking okay, but I don't think he will get close to what Cloke is putting out these days. Take out one game v Bulldogs (where a few of his goals where more opportunistic than hard earned) and he didn't show a whole lot in the seniors. Take out one game in the VFL, and you could argue the same thing. The fact is, he is a very low possession forward. He will absolutely get better (obviously) but I don't think he will be a star.

On De Doey, I just haven't seen any qualities that project to being elite (certainly not for the ones that could propel to stardom). I think he will be a good solid player, but in the realm of Pendles / Swan? I don't think so.

Hope I am wrong on both.
