Both Andrew Hilditch, the chairman of selectors, and Greg Chappell, the national talent manager and selector, have stated that their present policy is to cast around widely in the hope that certain players will show immediate signs of becoming top class performers.

So basically..."We're going to pick players at random and just wait for one to make a century/take 10 wickets on debut"

HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL IN CHARGE!?

andrew hilditch has said he is too busy to attend games in the past, not with cricket issues but his own business.

chairman of selectors is a part time hobby for him.

The Age wrote a defensive article about Andrew ******** HILDITCH:

And, I am a huge supporter of Gregory Stephen's tenure as a full time selector. People forget that he was a part of our revival in the mid 1980s.

And, his only blunder was his time as coach of India and South Australia.

Crash Craddock wrote an excellent article on Gregory Stephen whilst Jesse Hogan and Andrew Wu love to suck up to Peter Young!!

Peter Young is a bafoon!!

so he has two blunders and one good role, 20 years ago. And you're forgetting his time @ the cricket academy which led to terrible reforms to the 2nd XI which has greatly harmed domestic cricket here and hence the test team, while the cricket academy itself has never been the same

as for the article.....well at least we know it's their policy now. So instead of saying "they must be idiots" we can say "they're ****ing idiots".

I totally disagree with you PHONE!

You have been very harsh on Gregory Stephen.

You seem to forget that James Sutherland pissed off Rod Marsh and DK Lillee when RW Marsh was the head of the Cricket Academy and DK was the head of Pace Bowling Australia.

Sutherland did not offer Marsh the huge dollars to return to the Academy after his stint in the UK whilst DK was not rewarded with a payrise for his great work with our fast bowlers after the 2001 year.

The entire blame should rest on the shoulders of James Sutherland.

I reckon he did a great job at the AIS Academy. At least he did a better job than Teflon Nielsen who could not coach an under age XI with his eyes closed!!

CA must entice Rod Marsh back as Chairman to allow Gregory Stephen to work alongside him.

Then, CA must sack Hilditch, Nielsen, Sutherland, Michael Brown and Peter Young.

YEP!

Nielsen could not even coach the Newtown Chilwell XI.....and Sutherland is more interested in sleeping with the Indians to gain their money whilst trying to use the stupid BBL to prop up our season!

Has anyone realised that Sutherland is killing test cricket by sleeping with the Indians?

The day has arrived where Indians are taking over world cricket at the expense of seeing the great West Indies struggling to cope with the temptation of promising youngsters being lured to play basketball and baseball..

The Gov has launched a personal attack on Hilditch and Sutherland.

And, he is prepared to call for DK Lillee to become Chairman of CA with Graeme Wood or Dave Gilbert as our new CEO.

Our current CEO does not even understand the demands of test cricket. He never played a test match. He was a struggling fast bowler for Victoria who was a part of the John Elliott Regime at Carlton..the salary cap rorts..

THE GOV

It's like they aren't even trying to hide the fact that they don't have a clue anymore.

Well, they weren't hiding it particularly well before so it's best not to expend energy.

What annoys me is that they hold spin bowlers and new players up to the kind of extreme standards that the experienced guys - the ones that should be the backbone of our team - don't have to come near for years at a time,

In Mitchell Johnson's case, he only has to perform 20 percent of the time and he is our most experienced bowler.

Same with Hussey and Punter.
