Ports nuts have dropped overnight. Congrats to them.
It’ll sill get done but they need a face saver somewhere.
Honestly I think they’re making a big mistake. They had two strong picks in a reportedly extremely even draft and now they’re throwing all their eggs in the top 3 pick basket.Blues get pick 3 AND get to rid themselves of Owies. Lucky campaigners.
A first, a second , Noble and Richards for a 27 yo back flanker. Not giving enough ??? lolNo Houston = Noble stays without doubt.
Looking at the Power board and Suns board, they are both united in their belief that we are not giving up enough in the 3-way deal.
Whether all of us on here think we are, they do not.
It’s not as bad as the media make it sound. Honestly think Port contacted all parties last night and went “sorry all we won’t be proceeding with this current deal, we feel there needs to be a few adjustments but we’ll pick up discussions again tomorrow.” I’m sure they will get somewhere today.Have Port not communicated their requirements to us?
How did we construct an entire deal only to have them decline?
Wasted time.
Still think we're chasing the wrong guy. Give the Eagles 2 firsts for Barrass.
I like how you’ve written “27 yo back flanker” as if he isn’t the best back flanker in the competitionA first, a second , Noble and Richards for a 27 yo back flanker. Not giving enough ??? lol
No one wants to play for NorthIf North were truly in the race for Houston it would make more sense for them wouldn't it to deal 25 and a F1 directly to Port?
Sure Port miss on the pick 13 this year but they'll probably walk away with a top 3 pick next season. It's well worth the wait!
Of course they could turn that NM F1 into valuable picks for this year.
If NM aren't prepared to offer anything more than a F1 for Houston (unlikely) knowing it's potential value then what PA could gain from that would be on par if they can get 13 and 23 + out of the current proposal.
Personally I think NM are only interested in 13 if they know it lands them Houston and would be better targeting Fremantle's even better pick 11 if they really wanted back in using their valuable F1.
I suspect Walsh has got into the coaches ear and demanded they chase Finn O’Sullivan. I think he’s related to Walsh somehow.Honestly I think they’re making a big mistake. They had two strong picks in a reportedly extremely even draft and now they’re throwing all their eggs in the top 3 pick basket.
When has that ever worked for them? Weitering is the only genuinely good player I can remember them taking that early, all the rest have been squibs like Murphy and Gibbs at best.
No, it was a terrible deal for port and I genuinely feel it’s a show of incompetence for their GM of footy and he got bailed out.Could be wrong but do we think Port got a whiff of the Eagles trading away 3 to Carlton and using 14 for Baker? That means Richmond might be okay with GC handing 23 over to Port, now that they have 14 to use.
Yep, I am almost certain Houston will still be a pies player. Port just trying to milk it for all they canOF COURSE they're all acting like the deal is off
The deal isn't off. They just need to tweak it. Port just didn't accept this version of the offer

Given their recruitment strategy the past few years which has led them to their hard capped ceiling of a preliminary final, we shouldn’t be surprised
Which is fair enough from Port. GC add in 23 now and we should be all good.Yep, I am almost certain Houston will still be a pies player. Port just trying to milk it for all they can
