Callum Chambers

From West Coast Eagles in exchange for a fourth round selection (pick 57).

Troy Longmuir

From Fremantle in exchange for a fifth-round draft selection (pick 73).

What do we think? (sh)Longmuir is good value i think. Don't really know much about Chambers, had had limited oppotunities at WC.

T Longmuir is great value. He will kick at least 30 goals for you next year. He was a great club man, winning the award at freo. Was well liked by the supporters, at one stage i think the supporter sent a petition to the club to give T Lo a game and more match time.
We got burnt in this deal, but am glad to see he got a opportunity at another club.

I rate chambers, good finishing skills, could be handy across HFF or wing.
& is strong bodied.

T Lo- got him for nothing basically, Freo & WC fans seem to rate him but Total Packages mate Connolly doesnt seem to rate him at all.

All in all, we basically gave up nothing in real value terms, although our record at recruiting in the 4th& 5th rounds is good historically.

I'm very happy pick 9 & 25 didnt go elsewhere.

Perhaps TLO is pagans next attempt at a small forward goal kicker.

Well done Blues.

i think that we did ok on these trade troy longmure is a reasonable siz fowrard who has potential to kick 50 goals but i am not sure about the chambers trade i do not rate him very high although he is a very good kick :)

I mean this in no negative way.. but Pagan is definately the master of taking other clubs rejects and turning them into quality players.

Chambers and Longmuir probably have a bit more talent than players like Johnson etc that Pagan managed to get a bit out of, he could turn these guys careers around.

For the picks you lost, I'd be damn happy.

We got ripped for Longmuir, but I'm happy he'll now get a chance to prove himself, I'll be following his progress closely, good luck.

Longmuir was gold... As a Doggie supporter, I would have given our third rounder for him. Or our fourth. Or our fifth...

Great pickup

IMO....this is a west aussie speaking....

Troy Longmuir - obviously worth a risk with the crappy draft pick u gave Freo, but there is still a BIG Question mark over him. Dominates in the Wafl whenver he was dropped...& fair enough, he didn;t get many opportunities at Freo, but this year, when he did, he only played 1 good game & that was against Adelaide, when they were woeful. Possibly another Brendan Fewster - dominated in the Wafl but never played consistently in the Afl.

Callum Chambers - Played every game in 2003 (?), but hardly got a look in this year. Good skills & kicks accurately from distance on the run, but would be classed as an outside player. Not the hardest of midfielders. But for a late pick, was worth a punt...but don;t u already have Johnson, Clarke, Harford in this category?

Yeah, good job Blues.

Let's hope Longmuir and Chambers can get regular games and improve our side. It's good that they've got a bit of size about them, too.

So, where does that leave us with our ruck division, and backline?

Pre-season draft - who are we going to get because we desperately need a tall defender and a back-up for Barnaby, right?

I'd say everything was right except he isnt strong bodied, imo a bit stronger than adkins, but still weak.

Clarke and Harford are not in our future plans. Harford and Johnson lack pace while Clarke lacks skill. Johnson's saving grace is that he gets in and under and is a clearance king. Chambers would be more compared to Stevens, Camporeale and Scotland in that they are more on the periphery than in the packs. His pace might be able to give us a boost.
