Natural improvement will see it increase by atleast %10 next year, and thats just on the back of a fit an firing Trent Cotchin.

Trent Cotchin

No preseason for a seasoned midfielder is tough, but for someone who has never played AFL and has never played with a midfield before making his debut is extremely difficult, the fact that he pulled it off scares me to think how good he will be Next season. We might be getting a head of ourselves but I think we might have found an absolute superstar.

Matt White

If ever Nathan Foley breaks down we have a player that can fill the void with out loosing much drive at all. Whites season this year reminds me so much of Foley's break out year. Amazingly both picked up outside the National Draft. White will need to improve and I think he will. He has 2 attributes that you need to succeed in the modern game. 1. The desire to perform 2 a huge Motor.

Brett Deledio

Finally showed us what we all new he could be. Not much really has to be said. He has the drive in him to get the best out of his ability... which is scary.

Shane Edwards

The Club looks convinced that he will be midfielder. For every good he does a mistake here and there will follow. What I like is the club keeps backing him and he keeps backing him self. As supporters this is what we should do to. If a player is too scared to take a risk because of redicule from the club or supporters then he will never develop fully. He give 110% to every contest and loves to be at the bottom of the pack and loves to chase and tackle... Just needs strength.
His mistakes are mainly due to his size... another 2 preseasons and he will be sensational. He is 19 and has a motor.

Connors

There is something about this kid.... Needs to increase his fitness but after that, he could be anything. Poise, balanced ,great disposal and has that mongral in him. He'll continue to be starved of oppurtunity in the middle unless he can prove it on the track that he has the legs. May spend more time at coburg to prove that but the signs a great.

Tambling

Continues to improve. This year has probably been his best. Always thought he would take longer than Lids, another injury free preseason will help his cause.

Nathan Foley

Seems like a Veteran these Days. But he will be 23 for the best part of next year. Showed his class for Victoria and with limited time on the ground was the best for the Vics in my opinion. Leads from the front and sets the scene. When the opposition keep him quiet we seem to struggle. Next year we will have two Foley's ... Matt White being the other.

Thats 7 quality young Midfielders, added to the rotation with Johnson, Tuck, Brown and hopefully Coughland.
If Collins can live up to the hype and Casserly gets on the pack our depth in this area is pretty good.

But i still want 2 more quality midfielders in this off season. Pick 8 in the draft should get us one, hopefully we can nail another Foley or White from somewhere else. After that we can add another 1 every year and offload a fringe player here and there.

That's the thing I can't understand when people bag Tambling.

Yes, maybe he hasn't made the impression he probably should have being Pick 4, but you can't tell me he hasn't improved every year.

That's all you can ask from a young player I would have thought.

I have no problems about Tambling... as everyone on here would know... He is realizing that he can become a good player with out setting the world on fire. He is starting to play within himself without trying do the incredible and falling short. He is a smart footballer that can play inside and outside.
He may well find himself off half back.... but I haven't given up on him as a midfielder yet.

Yeah I know you don't have any problems with Richard, I was just talking generally to the masses of BigFooty who seem to have it in for him.

Switch Casserley for Meyer and I totally agree with you. Also Polo? Jackson? Not a tagger mentioned!

Polo has shown he can play but needs to improve his consitency and his relationship with the football department.

Meyer has all the skill in the World and would be a huge bonus if he makes it. Lets hope.

Jackson....ummm.... not sure. Has delivered in the past but at his age and size really should have cemented a spot. May struggle.

Well if you are going to mention casserley those blokes are a mile ahead of him. Has no runs on the board and a completely buggered body. Jacko and Polo are on the cusp of AFL regularity, cass is struggling to play coburg 2nds.

And hype aside, collins is far behind meyer, as the 2nd half of the year at coburg showed.

I'm not sure why people compare White with Foley

Other then the fact that they are both smallish, fast and weren't drafted in the ND i don't see a whole lot of similarities. Foley is and in an under clearances player who uses his pace and smart skills to extract the ball. Matt White has limited clearance winning abilities but has an excellent mark for a bloke his size and breaks the lines with his pace. I think Whitey will end up more of a half foward flanker or wingman

As for Edwards, this guy will be an out-and-out gun in a couple of years. Once he had enough confidance in his body (needs another 8kgs) he will be a clearance winning machine. He has decent pace, good hands and great awareness. Will be able to be shifted around from foward, to wing, to rover aswell. He is only a second year player and has 30 odd games under his belt.

He kills it at Coburg everytime he's down there too and looked better at the end of the year when he was given more time on the ball. His kicking is the only worry

I'm not sure about great awareness, he tends to get caught quite a bit. I'd be very tempted to trade him to help fix other parts of the list because we can cover his loss.

Last year i thought to myself, What have we done. But he was stepped up alot this year. People bag him to shreads but he has been a good player for us this year.

One of richmonds key players in the future along side Deledio Cotchin etc.

That's where the issue lies D2T. Everyone looks at pick 4, and can't see beyond that to realise that Tambo is a good player, who will be prone to flashes of brilliance. He'll never be the out and out flashy super star we were hoping for, or expected given the level of pick he was. But his improvement is evident none the less, and he'll easily remain one of our best 22.

Na beaver, Edwards is a star. Clean ball-handler, evasive, quick, smart, good mark. Just needs to fix up his kicking and put some weight on. 32 games and 23 goals in two years from a jockey-sized teenager? Mark it, he's a champ.

Tambling would have to be the most hated player in the legue. The media and the amount of people who really wants him to fail seems irrational.

He is not living up to the top four pick status, but he he doing better then most people selected beyound pick 7 from the 2004 draft.

tambling isnt a starting midfielder he is a back flanker that should be rotated through the mid field for 5 min burts n thats it

apart from then leave tambo back but give him the licencence to run run run and take players on

I think Edwards has to get it into his mindset that contests are never over and that you need to keep on moving and moving all the time. He has the motor. Needs to work on his positioning to get more handball receives.

I think that for a 19 year old he has shown more than enough to suggest that he will be a player once he has a couple more preseasons under his belt he will be a ripper.

I think he was given a golden run by TW this year and showed bits and pieces. Not sold yet but definitely not anywhere near our delist group.

How could you not be sold he is 19 FFS. Thats the problem with our supporters, so #$%kin gun hoe about trying to be the first person to write someone off.... then two years later come out and say " I'm happy I was wrong"...... Kelvin Moore is the PERFECT example.

I bet you are also one of the " TW should play the Kids" etc etc.... but when he does like he has with Edwards you bag him and say TW has given him " a golden run" FFS... your opinion means nothing to me anymore.. I want be replying to any of your utter crap no more. bye.

Yeah.........

Where did I write Edward off? Far too quick on the trigger nut. Just because I'm not creaming myself over him like you are I'm anti-Edwards all of a sudden.

You didn't write him off but you threw up the idea of trading him which is the next best thing.
You really are a clueless simpleton:rolleyes:
