So Les reckons he can grow the grass to the AFL required length in 2 days? Or is Les ignorant or dismissive of AFL standards?

Wasn't there concerns over Adelaide Oval grass being unsuitable for footy when he was there?

Was 100% couch, which was cut short, now it's ryegrass.

They made a change when they did the redevelopment, I think.

Off topic, but the games I played against Old Iggies was at their school oval. What happened there?
Was that the one where half the ground was under water if it rained for 5 minutes?

And yet they don’t play the Shield Final at SCG or MCG if NSW or Vic host it.

So don’t give us this sort of crap.

SACA sold their soul to get the ground upgraded in 2014 and in terms of the ACT in 2011 - the terms of when footy and cricket have it are clear -

The AFL (and AFC) are well within their rights. If you want AFL to amend then you have got to give them something otherwise piss off.

The 1995 Shield final was 26-30 March, they squeezed the ODI season to fit in the Big Bash.

It's not having a second decent oval.

Yes, which was before three additional AFL sides - Port, GWS and GCS - were bought into the league.

What happened in 1995/1996 is irrelevant in 2025.

This is all on SACA and Cricket Australia and no-one else as they know the agreement with Football.

Forcing the odd home shield final yo a secondary ground is hardly selling their soul. They will have used it as a bargaining chip, but in the grand scheme it’s a pretty easy concession.

Les retired in 2010 - years ago so would have zero idea of what current AFL requirements are.

Interesting on 5AA this morning, most of the callers that were complaining were 80+ years old- says it all. Listened to it to get a bit of a laugh.

They sold their soul to get their debt of some $80m+ repaid. This is the same organisation that under the presidency of Don Bradman (president 1965-1973) pissed the SANFL off to Football Park.

Don Bradman was a great cricketer but bit of an arseh*le when it came to business dealings.

What was their soul though? A vacant stadium for half a year whilst drowning in debt? Both SACA and SANGL made out like bandits.

Maxine's...?
Cnr opposite town hall
Not sure if it was called that back then, but I remember going there late 80s

Definitely on a corner about half way from bath to the Norwood. I keep thinking Jules, but I know it’s not that, but maybe started with a J. I was there late very 89-90 I reckon. It’s where I first learned coffee beans in sambuca.

Sambuca is the devils drink

Having a go at the younger generation again?
