28,499th :(:(:(
(20 trades remaining)

owning Coughlan (surprisingly) worked out well.
i've had problems in my backline with McPhee, Scotland, Raines missing games.
but my biggest headache has been my 7th forward (Sidey,Wadey, Hogan)... i'm spewing about Ziebell.
i've fielded 5 donuts thus far (plus Harvey's famous 0pts)... make that 6.

ahhhhhhhhh welllllllllllll
i'll bounce back 2nd half of the season.
Ouch. Yep i'm stuck at 16,000 odd something. I think I'm done for the year. It just hasn't been enjoyable at all.

Ranked 1777 (up 213 places this round).

Only used the 1 trade and only have one injured player in Skipworth who I'm getting rid of for a forward premium this week. Happy with my position so far but a long way to go and anything can happen.

Overall 1994 this week holding steady. Just avoiding donuts in Backs and Forwards. 17 trades left. Happy that mid cash cows (Rich, Ottens, Beams Zaha) should allow some good upgrades in the next few weeks. May go Hasleby->Hartlett this week to have some cash for upgrades.

21,093 had a real shocker of a week after getting nearly 2000 a week i pull out a 1653 which put me down about 13,000 spots which really sucks, still got 17 trades but now im thinking i have to get ablett in the team because him not in the team is doing a lot of damage and if i do get him i know hell start doing crap:mad:.
i guess its only up from here

If you guys outside the top 10,000(me included) can keep trades, withstand major injuries and plan well, then you can easily catch the field. Most people are going to run out of trades by round 16, and that's when you can do some real damage.

Plus anything around 2000-2100 is really going to shoot you back up the rankings in the next month.

do you think its worth going for ablett this week though as each week without him is hurting me, but the thing is ill need to do a double trade to get him, thoughts?

Hard to say, if you have Bartel or Cox I wouldn't be pushing to get Ablett in just yet, as you have a solid captain choice. He will come down in price at some point though and that's when I'd be working towards getting him.

Last year I had Bartel at the start and just waited for Ablett to come down in price, which happened to coinicide with Rhys Palmer peaking(after mid season iirc), so it was a very cost effective trade.

If you have a captain average of 105, and you think your missing out with ablett, well you are only losing 40 points per week really - essentially 20 though as thats the bonus he adds as captain. He is priced at 510k which is way to much IMO. Just wait and back your initial plan.

19 trades left with only Harvey and Skippy as problems (and no Harvey in SC)

Phealey you're spot on here. My ranking had been slipping from mid-thousands down to 10, 000 last week and I was averaging mid 1900s. I didn't panic and sure enough, pulled 2181 this week and shot up to 3,500 odd. Things can change pretty quickly with one or two good scores.

I must admit, I'm not holding back with my trades and am currently ranked in the top 50. I've got 16 trades with $160k in the bank, and was looking like holding out a week or 2 to do my next trade. Unfortunately, I have Walker and Petrenko starting who both aren't likely to get their breakevens, so I'm looking to offload Walker to Warren and Petrenko to Hodge/Mackie. Too early to get rid of these types Phealey? I'll be giving my other cows a few more weeks to fatten up before I do some more upgrades.

Have also been lucky with no major injuries apart from Skippy, Hentschell, Raines and Anthony.

Ranked 4,434 with 20 trades remaining and carrying a few injuries at the moment. Not having Ablett is really hurting

Not a bad idea to take phealey's advice. I was flipping back and forward positions with him last year on the overall leaderboard and at that point we were both well inside the top 100. He knows what he is doing.

Average week for me thanks to NGB's 0, but my little ones are all appreciating nicely. Dropped 1,500 spots to 3,858th. Just remember, its a marathon not a sprint.........:)
