You're eating the wrong type of sushi.
What's the right type?
Uncooked fish on rice with sesame seeds and japanese mayo on it?
It's bland boring shit. I don't understand the hype at all.

I think I get off on seeing the girl get off
Whaaa? I love SRV and Hendrix, but SRV's idol and main influence was Hendrix. Without Hendrix there would be no SRV legend. So much of SRV has Hendrix influences. And aruably SRV's best guitar work is in the covers of Hendrix he did like Lenny and Voodoo Chile.

Don't get me wrong, I am a massive Hendrix fan and I don't necessarily mean that SRV was better just that everyone knows/talks about Hendrix as a great guitarist (he was) whereas no one seems to talk about SRV. It may just be the people I hang around with however and besides, they were both excellent.
Not sure that there would be no SRV without Hendrix though. He had no 'main' influence as far as I can tell, though I would have thought his brother Jimmie would have been his initial influence. Also Lenny wasn't a cover, SRV wrote that for his wife, though you are right that it is one of his best.
Woops got Lenny and Little Wing mixed up. Lenny is an amazing tune. Personally my fave is tightrope. Definetly agree with you that SRV definetly doesnt get enough credit for shaping music today. Many modern day blues guitarists have been influenced by him I reckon. Take John Mayer for example. Wonder if things would be much different if he didnt die so young.

Yeah there is definitely a lot of SRV influence in John Mayer when he gets bluesy. Actually, I think John Mayer is also underrated as a guitarist now that you mention him. A lot of people I know think he is just that sensitive 'your body is a wonderland' type.
As for SRV's best song, I find it hard to go past Tin Pan Alley. That tone! Always good to be able to discuss blues music. If it's not made on a computer with that classic doof doof beat, it doesn't get a look in around here!
Edit: Shit, I just realised how old that last sentence made me sound![]()
Tin Pan is a cracker. SRV's tone is frikking unreal. The tubescreamer, strat, marshall combo along with his unreal skills - I'd kill for it.
Overrated: Pokemon
Underrated: Digimon
Not only did the Digimon TV series shit all over Pokemon, the original franchise began before Pokemon, contrary to the belief of the dumb masses.
I think that it's along these lines why Hendrix gets the plaudits that other guitarists like SRV don't. Sound. The variety of sound he could get out of just a strat and a Marshall stack was phenomenal.
The guy who I think gets underrated in comparison is, strangely enough, Eric Clapton. I don't think he gets the recognition for experimentation that Hendrix does, especially when he was with Cream. With 'Tales of Brave Ulysses' and 'White Room,' I reckon he was the better early exponent of the wah pedal, for a start.

Pikachu is a smelly yellow turd.We should have blasphemy laws for stuff like this.
Behead all those who insult the Pikachu.
underrated - churches
overrated - going to church
Meh you've seen one church you've seen them all. Although I admit there are some pretty impressive old churches around Europe but you still get sick of visiting them all the time when you're travelling around there. Usually got dragged along to visit them by women who seem to have some fascination with them when most blokes just want to visit the nearest pub when they are travelling.
Going to church for a service is even more boring. Hated getting dragged along to them when I was in school, thankfully my family isn't very religious so I never got dragged along to them on Sundays like some poor kids did.
The band The Church are definitely underrated though, best Australian band of all time imo.
