Looked like gws had a spare in their defensive 50 for the 2nd half which they exploited well to counter our attacks. I've seen us struggle with our attack when the oppo has a spare in defence.

Think it needs to be termed the flankers

When we actually had pressure in the forward half (1st half) we looked great

2nd half we started to lose contests and run out of steam and they ran through us, maybe just maybe we could drop Roberts/Lloyd for another small forward thats provides chaos in Dattoli might help fix part of the problem

What the most disappointing is the way we lose , rarely do we tough out a game. It’s just roll over and get humiliated. Time and time again.

That’s the part that hurts

If you said define Sydney since say Roos coached to today you think tough, hard, uncompromising, not always skilled, never gives up. If you want to beat us you have to be good. And when they did go down you always got at least the token bullshit fight back lead reduction , something to hang the hat on.

But that isn’t this latest group Imo and that’s not bad, but starting to think if they get rolling and get on top, they will get in your face and go the argy Bargy and roll on, kill you in bursts, but if you really pressure and get going they will struggle. They will bomb away etc. there’s a lot of good generally, some skilled guys. But the little pissy team things aren’t as important

Imo this season has shown we need a quality key forward & reliable key back. Amartey too injury prone, McLean not up to it. Mcdonald unknown. Mccartin concussion issue will always be a worry for availability.

Think we've got everything else sorted but need to settle players into their best roles for the team. Imo sheldrick and rowbottom both inside mids & not fwds. Campbell skills wasted as a defensive fwd.

That's part of sports and how some players fire themselves up. Sure you sometimes end up with egg on your face but calling the coaches and leaders "pathetic" because Papley gets stuck in is ridiculous.

This group is displaying all the signs of PTSD and needs to be treated accordingly. When GWS turned on the pressure and spread it hit them like Brisbane and Geelong and their brains and bodies shut down. Not all and not totally but enough to turn it into a rout.
I don't know what the solution is but I'm pretty sure the usual tricks are not going to work.
Ollie is a case in point. Dropping him has achieved nothing. He is still rattled. Lloyd went back to propping, Gulden sprayed them, Warner tried to do too much, Blakey got flakey. Mills and Rampe got overrun. Rowbottom checked out.

Yep and I know it’s harsh to blame one guy but Blakey missing a 20m kick into 50 for it then to rebound the other way. We should have been having an easy shot at goal instead they narrow the margin

Only a few more days till a Dattoli debut that’s all I care for at this point.

The draw was pretty soft this year. We play NM, Essendon and PA twice. The only hard doubles are Brisbane (but you’ll always play at least one top team twice), GWS (whom we’ll always play twice) and Fremantle who aren’t anything special regardless of their ladder position (like, they lost to us twice lol). I can’t see us getting a softer draw than this next year.
