Haha, what a joke. His club, Olympiacos, won the conference league last season!

Whenever this stuff happens it generally is sorted with share swaps, trusts etc. But pretty poor for an owner like him to be wanting to take away Palace's place that they earnt in the EL.

UEFA may still yet relegate Palace to conference league. Not sure how that works as Textor sold his Palace shares 3 weeks ago.
It's not been ratified yet. And the deadline is March 1 for any changes when it comes to qualification.

They can't be relegated. They will have to be booted out all together.

Brondby is already in the lower competition.

And that's the issue. They needed to have sold by March 1st. Not three weeks ago.

Shouldn't commons sense prevail? As of March 1 Textor probably didn't expect that Palace would qualify for Europa. He's disposed of his shares, I don't see the problem myself.

Because there are rules.

You don't just get to say ooops, we didn't plan for that can we bend the rules for us now please?

Common sense says don't put oneself into a position with owning multiple clubs where there could be an issue.

Sorry officer, yeah I know my rego is 3 months overdue. I wasn't planning on getting pulled over.
Soz.

If Leeds managed to jag a cup win like Palace it would be interesting to see what happened between them and Rangers.

Technically you don't know who owns Rangers because they just registered a company in Delaware where there is no disclosure of the shareholders.

It seems to me that the 49ers just act like a managed fund and take a management fee, probably from both the investors and the club, and the actual unit holders are just a heap of randoms. So are the owners between Leeds and Rangers even the same?
