So what makes you happy, bunsen?
There's 2 parts.

One is the internal stuff that really can't be changed. From that saying a leopard can't change its spots. I do alright here. I don't have depression. I also don't harbour high feelings of fear or guilt (I'm not religious). I also don't suffer from envy, jealousy, I take rejection quite well, don't doubt myself often, and don't get wound up or stressed over women. Probably my weak point is I don't suffer fools and people shit me quite easily.

Inbuilt happiness is pretty high.

Then's there's the other stuff. I don't worry about money. I don't think I've ever had an argument with my partner over money. Money is neutralised and out of the equation.

Then there's work. I don't really like it to be honest and I do it for the money. I have a skill that I'm good that and it pays well. So I do it. On one hand I'd love to do something I like but I count the shit I like on one hand. I'm either not good enough to do it (be a football player or journo), or it just doesn't pay well enough. But in saying that I had a pretty easy business for the best part of a decade. I also need to stress that climbing the corporate ladder is not for me. Just not interested in playing that game or putting in the hours.

I'd say I'm pretty happy and you know what would make me happier? More money. Not more money to buy toys, but money for a passive income. ie lifestyle choices.

I've said several times that perhaps what I was saying didn't come across the way I meant it, so I can definitely argue with you over my stance.

I'm defending what I said because you're being a douche bag and trying to attack one sentence out of everything I've said.
Funny that. You made the ultimate douche bag statement that you buy shit to impress others. I haven't attacked anything else you're said really. Then I made an offer to let it go and move on but you're still carrying on.

Move on.

Well if there's one poster on here who comes across as well adjusted and happy it would be you bunsen.

Lifestyle choices such as?

If 'climbing the corporate ladder' isn't for you, is it wrong for someone else to have the opposite opinion of you? Does that imply they have some sort of mental issue?

You're carrying on like a jilted lover. I have neither said nor implied I have a problem with anyone who wants to climb the corporate ladder. It's just not for me.

I've given you the offer more than once to move on......

Skipped over most of this thread but as far as couches go, you really do need a decent one. My job is quite physical so i'm usually wrecked by the time i get home. When i first moved into the place I am now we gave away all our old shit and wanted to start again, so that meant buying everything again; fridge, washing machine etc. So went blew most of our money getting quality white goods but when it came to the couch and furniture we went to Fantastic Furniture.

At the time we thought we were getting a good deal, we bought a couch for about $450, seemed alright, looked alright, did the job... After a while i was getting bad lower back pain and pain in my sternum which i thought was just from work. I went on light duties for a while, went to the physio and did required exercises etc and the back pain would come and go but the pain in my sternum persisted. I was close to quitting my job over it because i couldn't even sneeze without being in serious pain. Then my wife started getting a pain in her chest and we realised it was the couch...

So the next weekend we went to Harvey Norman and spent $3k on a decent lounge suite and our aches and pains slowly dissipated. Now i cant wait to get home from work and sit on my couch, nothing better. Best money I've ever spent.

Enjoyed some tele while plonked on a white leather electric reclining couch the other day.

Not bad I must say.

Also I lost my shit when Caesar tried to justify a super cool fridge because his housemate is a prick that doesn't fill iceblock trays.

I bought a Miele fridge last year. Nothing wrong with buying a decent fridge. Probably works out cheaper in the long run
anyway.

I have a bucket list with only two items on it.

1. Watch my team win the GF at the G. Preferably by 1 point.

2. Get a fridge with an ice machine and water dispenser.

Both been checked off. I'm all done. The rest of my time will be spent relaxing knowing I have achieved the things in life I wanted to achieve.
