Just 5 minutes ago the SEN boys were talking about Melbourne's lack of forward line options this year.

Ox came in with "Jack Grimes is a nice sized player who will play down there this year."

I hate to harp on it, but doesn't he get paid good money to know and comment on AFL football? Gee whiz, if it was my job to make special comments on AFL players, I would would make sure I committed a few of them to memory. Especially ones from my former club.

In his defence he is a nice sized player and would probably go okay forward as he is a superstar. But yeah Ox doesn't get paid on SEN for his intricate knowledge of the game, he gets paid to be a champion to the plebs, but a bit of knowledge (ie similar to Billy) wouldn't hurt. At least this one wasn't as bad as his Maric call.

if he had said 'could' play there then sure, why not. who knows where a new comer will be tried. But if he's said he will play down there, thats ridiculous.

He did say could, so perhaps we could give him the benefit of the doubt.

But Jack will play back this year with the ocassional run in the middle, one would think. He will not get anywhere near our forward line.

Once again, Ox has plucked a name from the clouds and hoped for the best.

I sometimes wonder with Ox. One of my all time favourite players, but geez he says some daft things..

The part of the ground Grimes is 'least' likely to play in is the forward line i feel (not going out on a limb or anything...). While he's a good size for a midfield type, he lacks the pace to be a small forward, and he's never really been a goal kicker.

Grimes will play across half-back predominately and rotate through the midfield when necessary. I mean he probably be more useful at fullback than in the bloody forward line!
