Its the best show currently on free to air - just ahead of Late Night Poker.

Season 2 starts tonight and it was the best season so keep watching.

No doubt it's the best show on at the moment. I'm just so sucked into the lives of the characters. It's also funny to watch series 1 on SBS on a Monday and series 3/4 on Foxtel on Sundays.

I'm just so glad there's a thread dedicated to this awesome show.

I've held back in the belief that I was the only person in the nearby cosmos actually watching it.

The good old internet, eh.

Very happy to know that it actually goes up to a series 3 and 4 too, by the way.

Just getting into the last couple of weeks.

Excellent stuff so far, I'll have to get my hands on all of the 1st season.

I had heard of it years ago but it was spotting Edie Falco (aka Carmela Soprano) that caught my attention.

Funny, of the main characters, just about all of them have shown up in Law & Order shows at some point or another, either as lead characters (like Keller and O'Reilly being in SVU or Shillinger in L&O original), or guest stars. Incestuous little world.

I havn't seen it.

Can someone give a brief explanation of what its about and the main characters?

Thanks in advance.
Its a US drama series set in a maximum security prison. From the HBO network which has given us The Sopranos, 6 Feet Under and Sex and the City.

Lots of actors from the Law and Order series make appearances.

Very violent and confronting.

Well I torrented down series 1, watched it all very fast and I've got to say, this is an absolute cracker of a show, so much so, I've decided to get the rest of the series too - highly recommended, I'm a huge fan of The Sopranos too, so if your into that I think you'll probably like this too.

The Beecher/Schillinger storyline is great and horrible at the same time - what a total bastard Vern is, great to see Beecher strike back, and by god, he struck back.

Who's everyone's favourite characters?

Schillinger is right up there for me, very believable character, I also enjoy Hill's opening and closing monologs, and his comments throughout the show, really adds to it. The acting is great, none of seem to be particularly well known, a few familiar faces, (apart from Ernie Hudson from Ghostbusters and The Crow) but it's all really strong stuff.

Also, how the hell does Simon Adebisi keep that little hat balanced on his head?

I don't think they ever reveal how he keeps his hat on. At least not in episodes I've seen.

As for a favourite character, Adabesi, Ryan O'Reily and Beecher probably win it for me.
