Yeah I'm the same as you. Had no idea it was coming. Not sure how anyone could have tbh.

Really? Either we have our two main characters getting killed off or Helen, it was pretty forecast.

Not sure if the spoiler warning should apply to this line of discussion but I thought Navarro would simply confront all of them with their simultaneous powerplays as the cliffhanger. Otherwise why bother flying all of them out to Mexico in the first place?

Yeah that's true as well, but since it was reaching a crescendo and Jonah had pulled a gun on her, it seemed there was only one way it could go down.

I think if you're coming into this thread not being up to date then that's your own fault. S3 has been out for a while now.

Yeah, she was definitely toast. Seeing how long there was to go in the episode though I expected an unresolved cliffhanger that would be addressed in season 4.

It was Nelson who killed her too, wasn't it? Nice throwback to her line earlier in the season about him telling her if the end was ever coming for her.

I was more surprised that Marty got on the plane after being told not to by the FBI agent.

It was his Heisenberg moment imo (well, apart from him building the casino riverboat) - he's accepted he's in it for good now instead of doing the bare minimum to survive. Thought he could get away with it by turning the FBI agent but that was never happening.

Yeah think it was him accepting he isn't really in control here. He gets topped on the plane/over there or he's fully into it all.

Not much Marty could do with the timing of the phone call from Maya.

The start of season 3 really was a struggle for me tbh. But i decided to pick it up again last night and eps 5-7 were strong, but damn eps 8 9 and 10.... wow. Several scenes left me with my jaw hanging on the floor. I thought more was going to come from Jonah in the last episode and was hoping he would pull the trigger. But when he didnt i was wondering how would the Byrdes talk their way out of it when they landed in Mexico.

Im still thinking about that final scene and what made Navarro make that decision. Anyway if Ozark finishes on that note its a pretty epic ending to a TV show. Also agree im not sure where they go from here. I dont understand how the Byrdes thought Frank Jr was untouchable because they were scared of the KC mafia, but then Darlene does what Darlene does and just rocks up with a deal to do business?

The second last episode might get awards, in my opinion it's a masterpiece of acting from Laura Linney and Tom Pelphrey in a tightly written episode.
Also the Snell/Langmore story needs resolution.

Totally agree with this. Episode 9 really stood out to me and it added that extra dimension to an already amazing performance from Linney.

As for Pelphrey, I liked him in 'Banshee' as well. The 2 characters weren't all that dissimilar though, so does anyone know if he can play anything else? He was born & grew up in New Jersey, so ditching the hick accent shouldn't be an issue?

As for Season 4; is there any chance that Julia Garner adds to her excellent performance by pulling off a full heel turn and declaring war on the Byrds (of course, some may see that as becoming the good gal).

I'm up to season 2 episode 8.

Episode 7 was the first episode that got me so bored I skipped through it because it was predictable what was going to happen, A shame as I thought episode 6 was probably my favourite episode so far.

I generally think most of the episodes have been 10-15 minutes too long.

I tried to watch this a year ago and got 5 episodes in a gave up.

We tried it again from the start and loved it instantly. By the time we got episode 5 I was totally in. Been great to binge watch.

Saw the ending to season 3 a mile off bit was still well done.

Am a Jason Bateman fan so surprised I didn't like it the first time.

At the start all the adults are various levels of detestable, making it hard to get into.

By the end of S3 they all still are very flawed people, but they've had the time to build up the relationship between each one and it's compelling viewing.

I think i wasnt in the mood for another series at the time. I liked the characters at the start. At some point during the series most of them have gotten on my nerve, except buddy - he was awesome

What a show, gets better each season. All the seasons kinda have the same structure, where they ramp up the tension and machinations every episode with s**t constantly going sideways, you're always thinking geez how can this get any worse and it just always does lol, done very well though.

Loving Wendy's character progression, stone cold killer. Even though I'm prob team Marty, reckon most of the ****ups this season can be put on her. The therapist with both of them bribing her, just rofl. Then she buys a maclaren :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Wyatt and Darlene, eww. Can someone remind me what Darlene had over the police chief in terms of leverage? Like yeah he knows whats going on and is happy to turn a blind eye, just thought he caved a bit quick when Darlene first demanded he run her dope, was there something there from last season? Can't remember.

Thought Ben was a good character done pretty well by the actor. Speaking of, the girl who plays Ruth is a cracking little actress, great character.

This is about them becoming a mega part of a mexican cartel though? Like the bosses? It's kinda silly man, only place for them to go is war with darlene and frank cosgrove, with elements of the cartel still sprinkled througout, problem is that's more of the same which would get boring, honestly think the show has gone just about as far as it can without jumping the shark.

The ben storyline was great, unless they have can pull another rabbit out of the hat like that the show should be wrapped up imo

Valid concerns I guess but people were saying the same after season 2 and I reckon we just got the best season yet in 3.

yeah noticed that too, brutal

Was literally on the tarmac with Nelson shepherding him up the steps, not sure how he doesn't get on the plane.

Coz she batshit crazy? :tearsofjoy:

Was funny when Ben briefly stayed with Darlene and Wyatt, turned to the wifey and said wow a lotta crazy under that roof at the moment lol

Im not sure they have ever told us what Darlene and her husband has over the sheriff

They were prominent rich, local identities with a vast opium paddock, that just recently acquired a riverboat casino. I am sure the sheriff knows what they're up to and he either gets paid to turn the other way or realises he does not have the power.

Sure, but looking the other way is one thing, would have thought agreeing to literally distribute her heroin for her is another.

Ah well, no biggie.

Thought it was an extortion attempt by Darlene, and that he resisted doing so anyway?

Thats what I mean, what did she have over him to extort?

He initially agreed pretty easily despite obviously not being happy about it, managed to get out of it later by agreeing to drop charges/recommendation to be institutionalised against Ben.

Just finished series 3, that was probably the best series of the lot

Some of you knobs should start using spoiler tags, glad I didn't come in this thread until I had finished the season
Why enter a thread for a show you aren't up to date with ?

You are asking for spoilers at that point.
