A fact below re that champion pacer Popular Alm that I've lifted from elsewhere:

"The shortest priced pacer or trotter ever in Australia was champion Popular Alm, who was officially returned at 100-1 ON when he won at Brisbane’s Albion Park on 29/10/83."

I don't think that you're at a 100-1 on to win the tipping competition though!!

He is my all time favourite horse i can safley say there will never be another horse like him just a shame he could not get at least one inter.

I have all his wins on tape from a show we used to get on Sundays on 7 plus to vhs tapes one called Poppy and the other called a Knight to remember all about Vinny Knight but a lot of Poppy in it.When i watch them some of his runs still bring a tear to my eye.

83 hunter cup was his best built as a heavy weight championship fight Poppy more than likley saw that famous poster and said "like hell i'll show him"

Interesting thing at the end when Peter Donegan was driving him and he said despite his age and all the leg problems he had all ha wanted to do was run and for a few strides i let him go and could only imagine what Vinny felt all those years when he was in his hey day
