I think he's saying Brophy didn't quit because he got dropped on the weekend, he was picked to play but pulled out.

Adamson was rumoured to be on a fair bit more money which wasn't an issue as cat b rookies aren't included in the salary cap but it made it problematic if we wanted to promote him

And I'm not convinced adamson is going to be anything more than a serviceable WAFL player so was never likely to play AFL anyway

These types of players play over 150 games in our side Keys..

These obscure drafts are experimental... some workout... a lot don't. Can't blame a young bloke for looking at his probable non AFL future and heading for the green pastures of home and family.

Good example of why there needs to be a mid season top up compensation draft for Clubs taking these chances trying to spread the AFLs gospel. Limit it to delisted vets and rookies.

I reckon C Jones would be my first pick... he'd be a better option than some of those we have at East Perth.

For every Pearce Hanley there is 10 Paddy Brophys. Move on and try and source more obscure Cat B picks from within the country like Watson. He might be nothing but at least he grew up with the right shaped ball in his hand.

Great experience for Paddy unfortunately he didn't get too play Afl but would have been fantastic to be involved at a AFL club ..
