Who the **** is this
I’ve been keen on him for a while.

Medium sized forward who just has a knack for being in the right spot at the right time.

He’s taken some decent body work marks in the VFL, but aside from he’s one of those guys that looks unremarkable. But by the end of the game he’s had a few moments that make a difference.

I don’t know if he’s good enough to be a solid AFL team player, but he has the potential to bring something a bit different. He’s maybe the most similar in style to Melksham. Not the same skill level, but has some smarts and tricks.

I mean we literally have Fritsch, Melksham and Mihocek plus McAdam all ahead as a mid sized forward. Sposed he's replacing kentfield but seems like the last position we need to fill especially with Johnson and Jefferson plus that Brisbane campaigner I forgot

Full Cream? He's gone.

Unless you mean Sharp, but doubt you'd be grouping him with KPFs lol

Nah Fullerton and yeah right thought that might be the case. Any other forward scrubs I'm forgetting

Pretty funny that the exact type of player we could have used is Wade Derkson.

McAdam is probably unlikely to play again at this rate. This must be Melk’s last year. Mihocek is quite a bit bigger than Cross, they aren’t similar styles at all.

I reckon it probably came down to who they thought was best available. It wasn’t really a selection in reaction to losing May or Kentfield for a couple of months.

You could almost look at it more like a preemptive replacement of McAdam and Melk.

Cross just kicks goals. Smart, quick, tough and clever. Seems a real "King type" from what we've seen this preseason. Really happy we get a look at him in the seniors.

McAdam? Lol. Melksham's last year, was going to retire last year, and he's barely trained this preseason. Fritsch is a watch for me this year, not sure he gets let off for his defensive efforts and selfishness now as much as he did under Goody, could go either way.

Contract year for Fritsch he'll want to have a good one.

Fritsch could kick 50+ again if he plays close to goal with how we are looking to move the footy.

He's a jet and I really do not understand the calls to trade him
It looks like Fritsch is being played further up the ground based on preseason activities. So 50 goals would be highly unlikely. If he kicked 15-25 goals and got 10-15 touches a game that would be a good season IMO for the role he’s playing.

I think the calls to trade him was because he’s one of the older players who probably had some decent market value. Plus he provides very little pressure so if like in 2025 he isn’t kicking many goals he’s definitely a net negative player.

I feel like the Fritsch zero pressure thing is overblown a bit. He's not great but he's not terrible.

The guy has kicked a mountain of goals + assists in a largely low scoring, dour Goodwin team. With a team lacking in natural forwards who can beat you in the air and on the ground I never understood the wish to trade him (granted he was very poor at the beginning of 2025).

In 2025, for players playing 5 games or more for us he's:

22nd for pressure acts.
12th for tackles inside 50. (Oliver is above him lol)
18th for tackles.

We need his finishing, and he's one of our best for one on ones (despite having a negative %), but I think he got a get out of jail free card under Goody. Definitely one the Goody's boys. I get the impression King wants to score, but if you're not lifting your weight with pressure as well then you're not guaranteed a game no matter who you are. Forward pressure will be even more important under King IMO, given the speed with which we'll be attacking.

McAdam might be the worst trade we've ever done I don't even know what that campaigner looks like.
Looked horrific at the time, even worse in hindsight. Only consolation is that we got the exact same pick we gave Adelaide for McAdam back for Neal-Bullen, when Adelaide didn't really have much else to give us anyway

Yeah Fritta is abysmal at forward pressure. Campaigner is a huge downhill skier.
