Recommitted Paddy Dow [OOC 2023] explored his options, but stayed

Disappointing that Lochie O'Brien (who arguably suffered worse under Teague and his poor coaching and came further back) was able to buy into Voss and his game plan.

Time to move him and see if we can somehow get a 4th round pick for him, and package that with the 4th we have from Port this year for hopefully an late 2nd/early 3rd round pick.

That would be a good result for us
You dont say. Two 4th rounders for a 2nd? Good luck with that :straining:

Dow get's an opportunity to prove himself on Sunday...
Tiger fans... He's quickly going from a 4th round pick, to a first round pick... :grinv1:

In all seriousness i doubt he leaves this year. Richmond doesn't need a player like him anyway, we need a contested ball beast

Agreed especially as it looks like Lambert will be forced to retired due to injury.

Dow would be your #1 Mid next year :tongueoutv1:

Prestia - Plays 5 -10 games a year
Lambert - Going to retire
Edwards - Will be 34 next year
Cotchin - Prime example of a player that has played 2 years to many
Martin - Want's to be traded to kings cross

Looking grim, Parker might be your best midfield choice next year...

Yeah no, Even short who is a half back we chucked into the mid is better then dow

Good to see Carlton up and about even after a loss.

Dow is similar to Ross at the Tigers, kills it in the VFL, shows glimpses at AFL level. Difference is, one was a super early pick and the other a late pick.

Both have token trade value.

A third rounder get it done?
Probably, I'd rather retain him for that but the kid has enough talent to start in most midfields in the comp. Would be unfair to hold him as a depth player and not let him get the most out of his career. Also, you couldn't possibly demand more for a player who can't hold a spot in the 22. The most relevant example has to be Patrick Lipinski who went to the Pies for pick 43.

I don’t think Setterfield is ahead of Dow at all. The sub choice is never that simple.

Both at a critical point in their careers. Dow has much greater upside.
I do agree with your second paragraph.

But in saying that it’s more of a criticism of Will than a credit to Paddy.

Hopefully he gets an opportunity in the seniors to finally step up and hold his position before the end of the year.

With Cerra coming back and Will next in line I’m not sure what else he can do to get a game.

Not since Sam Sheldon have I seen someone who looks terrified to be out there.
