Pagan Beliefs. Rohan Connolly.The Age
No comments on whether we missed Campo Rohan? :D
"What we want for our supporters is to be in the game and compete in a vigorous manner every time we run out and be consistent in everything we do."
For a coaching veteran and his club which no one outside Princes Park seems to rate any more, this year that will also mean consistently turning a blind eye to the forecasts of gloom from beyond.
DENIS PAGAN ON . . .

ANTHONY KOUTOUFIDES
He played all 22 games last year, he was on the ground more than everybody else. He’s been captain when Carlton has been through its roughest patch in the history of the club, and I think he’s been admirable the way he’s carried himself.

LANCE WHITNALL
Lance might have had a few issues early on, but from the time he’s come back, he’s been terrific. No one tries harder or pushes himself harder than Lance.

BRENDAN FEVOLA
He wanted to move on, but Richmond was the only club that showed any interest and that was very scant. Brendan came back and said he really wanted to stay and to commit himself, and he’s certainly done that. His recovery from groin surgery has been great, he hasn’t put a foot wrong.

I think Denis is just about the hardest coach in the AFL to actually get anything out of. He could talk for an hour and basically say nothing.
I dont think Denis was to worried about Campo leaving. If he was he would have been playing midfield and not back pocket.

I believe there might have been a little bit of interest in Fev but in the end Denis did not want him to go and neither did Fevola. Plenty on the board did and thats why there was no much bad press for him coming from inside the club. Like the best and fairest dinner and comments attributed to Fev about Nicholls (for example) that Caro commented on.
