SCPaige great read.

I completed mine over the weekend but want to hold off for testing and a few other finals games etc before putting it up.

Be interested in your general thoughts on the draft pool. My personal view was that probably top 8-9 are elite, then next 10 or so v good and then have actually a pretty balanced group to 60-70 or so.

Couple I think are unders. Cavka is soaring up and I think he will go quite high. Terrific size and I think his ability to win own footy a bit more pronounced than you have based on the games I have seen of his and coupled with his finals campaign has him going high for me.

Other one is Connor Blakely. I have watched a lot of him and his senior WAFL games late in the season were very very good. Terrific size and is good in and out. I actually think he will end higher than most think.

Reece McKenzie. I reckon thats pretty high for him.

What are Kade Pitchford from Tassie's chances of being drafted? Would it more likely be rookie draft?

With a stunning left-foot kick, Ryan Lim is ideally suited to a half-back role. He penetrates the game with precision,

Sorry but this is nonsense and can only come from a lack of exposure. Lim is a known turnover merchant and has been for some time down at Claremont, struggles to hit even basic targets at times, prone to over kicking and putting the ball on top of players heads or behind them. He's cleaned up a bit over this year but not a great deal. Also prone to ball handling problems, isn't as clean as he always should be.

Both Waterman (who's kicking you knocked) and Hardsity put his ball use to shame by hand and foot.

What do you think of Connor Blakely's skills? Eastern Rangers thinks he can't kick.

You don't think west coast will pick up Waterman?

Also no love for Dean Gore? Went alright against men in the SANFL finals.

that surprises me. Seen probably 5-6 of his games this year and wouldnt have said that. DE at champs from memory was over 75% which is elite albeit not sure of his Kick to handball ration but if you assume was 50% then that stat probably suggests he can. I remember one game late in year he had near on 30 touches and i thought he was very efficient. Didnt stand out as elite. For me I think he is your Mundy, Kennedy type. Its his body inside the contest whcih is going to be his go along with his ability to extract it and move it.

I reckon he has improved a lot this year. I always think his go is his run run run and how he attacks the lines with it. He isnt an elite kick (you are right) but I think its up to standard now. Agree Waterman probably better. Do you think Hardsity is a chance in the National Draft?

Collingwood supporters, you have a boy who should go in the top 6 apparently, and you are getting him at 10, and you want to take him in the 2nd round. Good heavens..

You didn't see Lim on the weekend in the final v South.
He is a shocking kick under pressure, and when not under pressure is still a below average kick.
His kicking over the last few weeks has been dreadful.
Waterman is a very very good kick he was outstanding on the weekend with his delivery, although missed
a few shots on goal.

Just on those 4 you mentioned, in my phantom i did a week ago, fwiw, i have:

17 Haw Blakely
20 Ess Cavka
28 Car McKenzie (even though i'm not really a fan)
30 Col Gore

hmmm yeah the gulf between best and worst seems large. I must be the only bloke whose seen the games hes been ok. I dont recollect the 2-3 games I saw him in last year him having such poor disposal. In fact I remember at at least one of the games thinking gee they have been ordinary but he has lifted them and got them up and about a bit. I've also seen vision of him at a number of this years games and thought it was ok. Clearly his run and carry are his assets. I think his handball is very good and look overall at champs he went at 75% and the blokes I talk to will tell you that is at the 'very good' level. I went back and checked his stats this morning and his handball to kick ratio was probably 60-65% so that probably masks a bit of it.

You see him more than me. Where do you see him in the list.I have currently got him around the 50-75th ranked range.

I reckon you are closer to mark on Connor. Absolutely agree on Cavka and mcKenzie. He may go that high but most of his goals came from games vs ordinary sides. Gore probably a bit higher than me but can understand it.

Another great read, what do you think of the prospect of Essendon taking Dan Connors later in the draft?

Great job Paige

You have his range about right, if he could kick would be a top ten pick.
His kicking is on par with say a Deboer at Freo.
He can look amazing at times, but doesn't like the physical side of the game enough.

Lim's long kicking actually looks really good, he kicks through the ball and he knows his distance. It's when he's got to kick at a target that he has problems, in the same boat as Clem Smith in that regard. I do wonder how much it can improve because he's got some nice attributes.
