Scott nothing to lose: The path to reignite the dream​

Richmond recruit Paige Scott wants to be remembered for their tenacity, while searching for premiership glory in the Yellow and Black.

As a dynamic, hard-to-compete with player, who is the ultimate teammate.
And as the small forward continues to ramp up rehabilitation ahead of official pre-season, it’s hard to ignore what they will bring to the Tigers.


Scott made the brave call at the end of the 2024 AFLW season to leave the Bombers, nominating for the Draft, where they were selected by Richmond with Pick 31.
While their time with the Bombers was rewarding, notching up an impressive 28 games and kicking 13 goals, the spark Scott once had for the game, was fading.
“I take a lot of great experiences and wisdom from Essendon,” they said.
“I just want to be the best teammate I can be. I want to feel (like a) free, passionate player, as I did in my first year.”

Dubbed a high-flying, electric small forward, Scott has already found their feet within the walls at Punt Road.
“I’m loving my experiences so far. I was a bit nervous coming from a different club, but all the girls and the staff have made me feel really welcome,” Scott said.
“I feel like I fit in quite well with the group.”
It’s the 20-year-old’s fourth year in the system, but their first chance to reinvent their dynamic game style at a new club.

“Hopefully (I can bring) that same tenacity as a player,” Scott said.
“Ball-winning, aggressive, hard to compete with player.
“Ultimately, I just want to be the best teammate I can be. I love winning and I love winning as a team.”
Scott played just seven games with the Bombers last year, suffering from a niggling foot injury that required off-season surgery.
“The surgery has worked miracles. I was in a bit of pain last year, for the whole season,” Scott admitted.

"To come out of that with a half-brand-new foot (is really good).
“I’m in rehab at the moment, building my load and kilometres back up.”
But there is one thing they are yet to achieve, with a dream that 2025 could be the year.
“Hoping to be the best teammate with a shiny cup at the end of it all,” Scott said.
The AFLW pre-season begins in May, with official proceedings kicking off in August.
