******* Haddin how the **** he even got back into this team after the pathetic showing in SA a few years back is to much to fathom.
Haddin was good with the gloves in England and outstanding last summer. He was also handy in South Africa.

One swallow doesn't make a summer. Let's see how he goes in the next couple of Tests and then re-assess. It's not like anyone's smashing down the door to get in, at least until Whiteman really stands up.

He wasn't handy in SA with the bat.

Far from it. I was happy with his glovework, though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Haddin fan by any means. I just see little point in picking any other keeper at this stage. Wade's just as inconsistent with the bat and his keeping is dogshit, and I'm not so sure about Paine.

Keep picking Hadds unless he starts dropping sodas, and hopefully by that point, Sam Whiteman is ready to step up. Hopefully we don't end up picking Hartley in an interim role or something like that.

Hartley's a fine keeper. I'd just rather not hand out a baggy green for the sake of it to someone who won't wear it for very long.

Silly to point to one month of reasonable form with the bat when the previous however many months indicated he'd be torn to shreds at Test level.

Give it to players that deserve it, not just young players who might wear it a long time.

Hartley is light years ahead of Haddin in glove work. You'd have to be loopy to think otherwise.

Even Boof said he was the best gloveman in the country.
If I'm not mistaken Darren Lehman said that about Hartley over a year ago. He may still have even been the coach of Queensland at the time. Doesn't count for much, and in that time Haddin has proven his worth to the side.
