LMFAO
wow this thread was the highlight of my day
comparing players in the draft already
poor kid , how was he to know that after expressing an opinion (a stupid one at that) that such a verbal beating was to come :)
well all i can say is that once trent cotchin has a pre season under his belt , and more experience i dont think that rhyse palmer and trent will be mentioned in the same sentence in terms of potential

Especially funny considering Palmer was eligible for the draft back in 2006 but was completely overlooked and came on as a more mature top aged recruit last year. Cotchin is 14 months younger than Palmer, so over a year younger and had no preseason, perhaps only 4 VFL games to build up any fitness at all.

Glad the thread creator has backtracked, but it should never have been made in the first place. Try informing yourself properly before you fly off the handle next time.

Screw this and Screw you - why dont you read the entire thread before putting in you 2c worth ... i have officially stated numerous times that i was out of line for posting that, and am very happy with Cotchin -he is going to be a gun.

But i am not going to keep apologizing for writing my opinion and especially to people who appear to be reading the very first post from several weeks ago and then commenting after all this water has gone under the bridge.

I WAS WRONG - I'M SORRY - NOW BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT.

I admit i didn't read the entire thread before posting, but i was so appalled at your comments that i just had to comment.

I'm glad you have admitted you're wrong though...Cotch is gonna be a gun. :thumbsu: :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Can someone remind me again why we didnt draft this kid?

Cotchin is going to have to be d@mn good otherwise it will go down as a terrible recruiting error. I think recruiters complicate things a lot. Palmer dominates against his peers at the Carnival = pretty good chance he will be an out an out star at AFL level (after development time). Yet he is overlooked by us and a few other clubs.

Maybe Cotchin will be better and prove me wrong, but from all accounts, we have likely made another terrible recruiting bungle.

You're an idiot

Now apologise once more for good measure!

Did you see how well Cotchins played????? I think an apology is in order...don't you think?

I think we all should learn from this.

Feel sorry for eays now, talk about premature expectations. In fairness though, he has retracted his initial call and said Cotchin will be better.

In all fairness, he did say this as well:

In any case, all that aside, i am not actually knocking Cotchin at all. What i am saying is that Palmer is setting the bar very high.

So obviously a gaff making a thread like this, but it wasn't a case of "we made a mistake" but rather someone expressing concern over someone else setting the bar high.

As it turns out, the high bar that Palmer set for Cotchin has recently been lifted up higher than we ever imagined :D;)

ummmmm, because we drafted the 2008 rising star and quite possibly the best footballer this club has had in 20 years. Gee whizz ay? ;)

he should win the rising star your quite right there. dong get me wrong palmer is a gun played every game bar round 1 gets plenty of the pill and kicks a few goals. but cotchin is a class above palmer has far more superior disposal looks more poised when he gets the ball and hasnt even had a pre season under his belt. so when they do the voting for the rising star if they pick quality over quantity cotchin will win imo.

Dont let any facts get in the way of a good thread thanks. ;)

2) With some honesty now... who would you rather play 250 games for your club?

Well, you have Palmer for your Dreamteam side, and we'll have Cotchin for the real stuff.

;) Haha, unfair with the Kruuuuuuez being completely different players as much as it would look good. The big guy is up against it in the ruck but not dropping his head. I think he's doing pretty well considering, not as good as Cotchin but he looks better than the last no. 1 pure ruck pick. Josh Fraser. :)
