Galaxy was actually a pretty good player and shouldn't really be grouped with the Trent Bartlett's and Kingsley Hunter's of this world.

In 1992 Coleman took 162 marks and kicked 24 goals. In an era where uncontested marks were much less common.

162 marks is more than double that of any ruck/KPP player on our list this year (Trengove 80 marks the most by a ruck/KPP). Hunter (117) the most of all players this year.

He also poleaxed a goal post !!

Yada, yada, Leigh Matthews, whatever.

No-one ever mentions Galaxy. Galaxy knocked his clean off at the ground, none of that fairy nairy half way up bollocks.

Didn’t they have to use one of the Auskick posts as a replacement ??

Yeah probably. Jarrad Grant and Ayce Cordy were too young back then.

I went to a corp box one night with Galaxy and Scott Wynd. Pies V Port so spent the night chatting dogs games. I mentioned the post breaking to him and he was surprised someone rememebered. Yes they did bring the Vickick post out, I think they fixed it at the next break.

When Toohey came to us in 92, he and Galaxy, as former Swans team-mates, used to rock up to games in Huk Toohey's ute. Said g'day to them a few times as they exited the ute, neither of them ever seemed too stressed about the imminent game. Great blokes, I was in the rooms after a game in 92 or 93 for a post-match function, and Huk was very entertaining, Galaxy more reserved. Galaxy did a great job in 92 of helping Chris Grant ease into a CHF/HF role by taking the bigger-bodied defenders, and Huk was a subtle enforcer that helped get us to 92 finals. Good times...
