Hockings bump was as equal a contested ball as hanneberry bump on Hurley..however we should all know by now that Sydney get looked after and Essendon get screwed. Just expect he'll be suspended..a silver lining might be that Kavanagh gets a chance against GWS next week.

Must have been Benny's twin who I had a long conversation with on Tuesday night about playing up forward this year and adjusting to a position he'd never played in the WAFL.

5 goals isn't a bad return for a tagger hey?

Must have been because any discussion i have ever had with him he has said he is hopeless at tagging :D
Now where is kelvin sheedy, told him before last weekend that Benny was fine and not injured. No voodoo involved.:p

"Midfielders Jobe Watson and Brendon Goddard and forward Ben Howlett, who booted a career-high five goals and gathered 25 touches, finished in a three-way tie for the Yiooken Award. But Goddard won on a count-back that was decided by the voting panel chairman, three-time Brisbane Lions premiership player Chris Johnson."

Form the AFL website.... countback hey..

The only one of the three "supplement saga free". Vlad decision.

I was really worried about this game. I think it was lucky that we had some real quality players back in the side and we could field such a strong team. The boys still have the fumbles massively and don't have consistent intensity, but that will change in a few weeks time. Fielding strong teams with our confidence up should be enough for the next few weeks, then the ball will really start to get rolling and we will see the players finally start to switch on. Having got through this game i really like our chances of finishing high up the ladder...

If we could only eliminate these 30 minute lapses of goal-less footy, we'd be half decent.

Seriously very happy and the atmosphere was a bit odd, especially during the very flat second half.

Probably should not have worn thongs tonight, pretty sure I stepped in a puddle of piss on the Sandy train - a real dampener on my night.

He's too desperate to win the footy to be a tagger.

Stoked with the result, but the atmosphere at the game was a bit weird. The whole game felt like it lacked intensity apart from the second quarter.

That's what happens when a good side plays a shit side I guess, so woeful Richmond.

As for a review, lot more team stuff going on.
Better organized roll over defense.
Leaders leading the way.
One question mark i have is we are shit slow in the midfield at the moment. Even Zaka is lacking any real pace and run.
They burnt us with their outside speed and spread a few times and we do not have the pace to match it. When Hocking is one of your quicker
midfielders then there is a slight problem. Really need the Merretts or Gleeson to keep improving or find a way to get Dempsey up and running more often.

Will be rubbish if he does. Both going at the ball, no bump involved.

Totally agree on the pace issue ant.

Any chance of any combination of Edwards/Dalgleish/Colyer a) playing full time midfield and b) earning a spot in the team?

Dalgleish in particular really struck me last year in his couple of games as a smart mover and capable of spending a lot of time in the guts.

Also, can anyone who watched it on TV tell me why no 50's were given for players being tackled/taken down after they had marked? I counted three that from where I was sitting, should definitely have been paid.

This really pissed me off. The last one, involving happy happened right in front of me, and was blatant. Naturally, I ensured that I communicated my point of view to the ump.

Richmond are so unbelievably poorly drilled.

It is just so easy to pick their plan A apart and they have almost nothing in reply.

They can't defend the ground.

On field leadership is as appalling as the coaching. They did not have anyone on Watson all night. Carlisle and Hibberd were left unmanned to sweep up across half back.

Think Colyer has been stamped as depth now. Forgot about Dalgleish but he has had a slow start back from injury. Certainly had shown a bit last year.
Edwards yes if he gets his head around the concentration needed . Has all the skills and speed and can work in the game plan but also fades in and out a lot at the moment. Hope one or two out of them will make a difference.

That's what happens when you put the hard tag on Heppell, can't take 'em both out.

Yeah that was the most blatant (so obvious), I'd love to hear what the ump said as to why he didn't pay it.
