Roeder offered 3 mill + Milner for Harewood, funny funny stuff. :) . Theyd barely get Zamora with that much

If they want a striker SHeringham is still available and fighting fit

Man U just blew 15 mill, i guess that means Mascherano is going nowhere.

Nugent would be a good signing for Portsmouth but itd be the nail in the coffin for Preston as far as promotion goes.

They've made 2 15mil deals today? Because you must be talking about someone other than Carrick.....

So, there's still plenty of time for something to stuff up.

Pennant and Bellamy on hearing the word, "Saloon", order a pint each.

Any news on Hard luck Harry's standing at Liverpool? Wasn't he supposed to be on the way out if Bellamy was brought in?

Im thrilled that the deal has gone through (im hardly gonna be angry about 2.1 heading our way) but Carrick is nowhere near as good as people like to think. Even with his time with us he was never overly impressive IMO. Hes a OK player but he is by no means a ROy Keane replacement or good enough to be Man U main man in the middle.

Lampard wasn't that good until Mourinho came to town. Watch Carrick grow as a player at Utd.

In fact what exactly is Lampard better than Carrick at?

-Scoring goals....which he is expected to do in the Chelsea system, we won't be using Carrick as a goal scorer.

Carrick is at least on a par with Lampard in terms of his passing, he is better defensively and prob is on about a third of the wages Lampard is on. I've said it before, Lampard's shortcomings as a player were there for all to see during the World Cup. Once he stopped scoring his goals it was obvious he didn't give too much else to the team.

I'm not saying Carrick is as good as Lampard, but given the opportunity to play in a good team he wouldn't be too far behind. Time will tell.

If you play Carrick in a deep role with Ronaldo and Giggs on the flanks and Rooney in front of him, he'll shine with his ability to pass the ball. As Lampard has showed - it's all about the system. Even the best players aren't going to shine if they don't suit how you play (see Veron).

And didn't he win West Ham's player of the year the season before he went to Spurs?

I like Carrick as a player, but he isn't even at the level where you should start comparing him with Lampard. Two totally differnt types of player for a start, but Lampard has many, many, many more runs on the board.

He better be good after all the palaver over him over the past few years.

Whats happening with Mido, you were alluding in another post to some dramas. Has he signed elsewhere?

I think you need to go back and watch some Spurs games from last season. Michael Carrick was a major reason we took a big step forward.

He's not a replacement for Keane in any case, we still lack that ball winner.

Yes it does. Every post you make on this board is about me.

This week I reckon I would have posted about Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Man United, Man City, Aston Villa. Probably another half dozen teams.

You on the other hand have posted about me, and only me...again. I feel special and all that, so thanks for caring so much.
