What this shows is how desperately we need a federal ICAC.
Precisely put and so true.

One can only imagine what partisan interests would infest or chair it though...imagine Bronny.

On second thoughts she may be ideal.

Would in all likelihood know where all the bodies are buried and if her current mood persists, who knows
what would transpire.

To be fair though, I do have a grudging admiration for the sheer resourcefulness and bloody-mindedness of this mob's hypocrisy
when it comes to matters like this latest scam.

The party replete with God fearing folk is utterly unacquainted with shame.

In the end, they just wear you down.

If all the cross-benchers said they would only give power to the government that brought in a Federal ICAC then I wonder what the Liberals would do? It is to the advantage of the minor players to have one and the Liberals can't just keep going to an election in the hope that the country will change it's opinions.

Bronny would be brilliant I reckon, she is currently more than wiling to dump on the left of the party from an incredible height.

I was very disappointed they never set a proper one up in Victoria, but as most know the Liberal Party in Victoria is as crooked as the NSW Labor Party was. Just look at it, Calwell doesn't have a Liberal candidate because he was booted by the party the day nominations closed and they didn't get the paper work in for a replacement. McEwan, which is very winnable, has a candidate who never lived in the electorate and is registered with the AEC as living on a vacant block, so if he wins watch that go to court and a by-election be called for sure.

Story seems to getting some legs.

If the labor party had done this it would be front and centre of every paper, news bulletin every day of the election and still brought up at the next.
The budget deficit was going to gone in LNP first year, no questions asked, deficit tripled bearly a murmur, most people now only on part time work, it's fraudulent.

Yeah but this time they have a plan for jobs and growth and a strong new economy. Yes it would have been nice of them to implement that plan post 2013 election rather than post 2016 election but beggars cant be choosers.

Federal election 2016: Parakeelia disclosure failure raises questions as Liberals scramble to adjust 'clerical error'
June 16, 2016 - 9:00PM

The Liberal Party is scrambling to contain the fallout over taxpayer-funded cash injections from its software company Parakeelia, amid allegations it failed to inform the corporate regulator of changes to company shareholdings for 15 years due to a "clerical error".

Appropriate arrangements to transfer this shareholding will be made in due course

Parakeelia has emerged as a significant threat to the Coalition after revelations that state and federal Liberal MPs direct part of their taxpayer-funded allowances towards the company, which in turn paid money into the accounts of the Liberal Party.

He's still the Liberal candidate on the ballot. Him and the party abandoning the campaign doesn't change that.

afaik if they don't spend the allowance it goes into their pockets right?
Ha - if that were true we'd see them all being far more concerned about the money they were spending.

The Liberals own the company. They overcharge the parliamentarians and move money straight from taxpayers to the LNP to be spent anyway they want.
