Gee, you guys are having a little frenzy after our one loss. It's quite funny. Without question, we played terribly last night, and getting beaten by 70 odd points was very disappointing. The Cats did their homework, and put an extremely heavy tag on Stevens, and applied a lot of pressure on our young midfielders, who were unable to get any effective delivery into the forward 50. The midfield was were the game was lost. Fev kicked none, because the midfield delivery last night was so bad, and as a consequence whenever the ball got into the forward 50, he literally had 4 Cat defenders on him. Our other KP forwards were starved of delivery to an even greater extent. Well done Cats - they did their homework, and were a much better team on the night. Some of the Blues young midfielders (e.g. Murph, Walker), got some nice stats, but stats mean little. It was a disappointing game because of out poor use of the ball and lack of intensity in particular. But this really is a great challenge for our very young list. A test of character. The Blues list is loaded with raw talent, but now they'll have to learn to pick themselves up from the floor, and work on areas that were deficient. This young side has so much talent and upside, and such a great attitude, I have absolutely no doubt they'll respond. In actual fact they'll probably learn and develop a lot more from this loss, than they did from the victory over the Tiges in the previous week. I've always said 2007 will be bit of a rollercoaster for this developing side - they'll be more impressive victories, and no doubt more big losses like last night. That's just symptomatic of a young, inexperienced side. But the upside is just huge. :)

By my count the Blues had 10 this week. As do the Hawks. Meanwhile the Tigers have had 11 in each of their first 2 rounds. I guess we can use the same reasons for our up and down performances then.

Well, by my count Collingwood had 8 players last night with less than 50 games and we played pretty well against the weagles.

the blues will learn from this 12 goal drubbing like they have in the previous 3 years.how are they different? gibbs? move waite to the back line?kennedy took a mark last week that hit him in the face first and fell into his hands.simpson,walker,stevens,scotland,houlihan,betts,russell all only go one way, and when it fires up go missing.ruck division found out by a second year player.pagan game plan used to be kick it to carey and that hasn't changed only fev is no carey

This is the most ******ed argument the 3 teams mentioned always put up. ALL players were young once. Just because you are young, does not mean you are going to be brilliant when you're older. Sick of hearing it, time and again. SO you have a team full of young, inexperienced players. Does that mean in 8-10 years your whole team will be old? And all champions? NO

absolutey correct.
 
It is no big deal, heck even the Bombers had 9 players with less than 50 games experience on the weekend.

These teams like Hawthorn and Carlton shouldn't just worry about experience, yadda, yadda, yadda, they need finals experience and mental toughness also if they want to build a championship team, otherwise the window will open and they will just fall by the wayside, and it doesn't look like they'll be getting any just yet.
