Hello fans,

To those who have complete the questionnaire, thanks very much for your great support to the Eagles and me!! For those who did not have a chance to complete the questionnaire, the chance is still available for you to show your support to the club. It won't take you more than 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

The findings of this research will be available to the club and fans like you.

Many thanks for your support, I greatly appreciate it.

Do you need to show your questionairre as part of the course?

Few helpful hints if so:

"Which AFL team do you support" would read better than "are you support".
West Coast Eagles should replace West Coast Eagles'

Not sure if you have a quota to fill, but you repeat questions a lot on one of the pages...

Do you have a flag or any symbol that is visible to others that indicates your support for the Eagles?

A bit too open-ended and can be interpreted differently, does this includes scarfs, socks, mugs, bar mats etc.

Have you watched a TV programme feature the Eagles in the last week?
Too seasonal, and does this include the News?

I like to talk about team's good old days with people on BigFooty Website
This questions is asked twice

I help members of the BigFooty website community if they need my help
This questions is asked twice

I recommend the BigFooty website to others
You've asked this question twice, although worded slightly differently

I help other members of the BigFooty website community if they seem to have problems.
Same question again, just different wording

I like to share pleasent memories of the team's past with people on BigFooty Website
Same question again, just different wording

I say positive things about the BigFooty website to other people
Same question again, just different wording

There are actually a few more repeated questions that I can't be bothered quoting anymore...

I fulfill my responsibilities to the Eagles
Do we have any responsibility to the Eagles?

I do all the tasks required of an Eagle's fan
Again, I don't understand what tasks are required?

I recommend the Eagles and their employee to others
Do you mean the club or the player, I think employee is the wrong wording.

If I have to wait longer than expected when dealing with the Eagles, I am willing to adapt
In relation to an off-field complaint, or in relation to their on-field success?

Ok, this question: "I am happy that the Eagles promote their players as role models for the community"
Is literally asked 3 times in a row, as well as appearing about 2-3 other times, so maybe the program your using isn't generating questions properly?

The last few pages had a few questions which were confusing or repeated as well, but can't be bothered going through them.

Overall, way too many questions, you should have less that half and you'd still get a good data set.
If the uni is forcing you to include all those questions, then they're doing it wrong.

Thank you so much for your time Nameless,
it seems there are repetition, but if you read carefully, the questions are asking about fans behaviour in online and offline environment. For example:
I say positive things about the BigFooty website to other people
you confused with
I say positive things about The Eagles to other people.

thanks for your valuable feedback, it is really helpful.

Yeah dude, I agree with nameless.

TL;DR
A fair bit of repetition, a number of poorly framed questions, along with some errors of grammar and syntax.

Half way along you switched the axis from strongly disagree on the left (strongly agree on the right) to strongly disagree on the right (strongly agree on the left). I actually noticed half way down the page and had to mirror-image my responses accordingly. Not everyone will notice this in time, and your results will be skewed to an incalculable degree, rendering the results more difficult to interpret, if not completely invalid.

I suspect you will conclude something along the lines of:

Fans of the Eagles have high expectations of the club, watch a lot of games live and/or on TV according to their income, and believe that the West Coast Eagles is a well-run professional organisation which could stand to improve its relationship with fans/members.

A lot of the other questions will give you incredibly limited information, not least of all because there are so many which are repeated. Changing one or two words in a question will not give you any more useful information - in fact it can lead to confusion for both participants and interpreters of the results.

For example, a tendency for the subject to check how he/she responded to the previous question which sounded the same, thereby taking them mentally "out" of the material in question and shifting them toward psychological discomfort, aka the "oh FFS, how quickly can I get this done?" frame of mind.

As another example relevant to yourself as the author, if you happen to find a significant variance in the responses between two very similar questions, how would you possibly interpret this aside from reluctantly concluding that participants were not considering their responses, thereby invalidating the entire questionnaire? Basically, repeated questions in a questionnaire offer you no potential to improve the data set, yet they significantly increase the risk of impairing the quality of the data.

There are other questions which are nonspecific or poorly framed, again leading to a confused and unreliable data set.

I'm not sure how successful your PhD will be if this is your starting point.

At best, it's tedious to complete the questionnaire, the data you'll collect won't be very useful IMO, and some errors of grammar and syntax should be corrected.

At worst it needs to be reconsidered, restructured, and completely rewritten.

It's always easier to critique something than to construct it from scratch, so don't be disheartened; just make some more changes after seeking further advice, hopefully from a well-informed supervisor.

Good luck.

Thanks EagleShore for the time
I appreciate your feedback, and it's been improved

Alrighty I made it through. Felt I struggled to differentiate myself from the 'average' Eagles' fan, and from fans who contribute/expect more than I financially. Would appreciate vaster gender options. All the best with your research!

You can study me but only straight after a 45

Many thanks to everybody who has participated so far.

I need more participants so, I'll continue collecting data for a number of weeks, so if you haven't checked it out yet I'd be grateful if you gave it a go.
